Kingers didn't listen to the community and was in no position to do what he proposed, that is why he failed.
It would be nice if we could have a way of switching HUDs with T3EnhancED.

IMHO, making custom options for cosmetics in the editor is not great because the cosmetics seem more appropriate when playing in any FM, regardless how it was created.
In general, why not imagine T3 is changed to look like T1/2 and there are no more INI files to modify? Everyone accepted the cosmetics in T1/2 were eventually okay and the games were playable forever. So T3 with the similar cosmetics could survive forever too.
Maybe an alternative is to have one enhanced editor and two minimalist projects: the editor and one project left the way they are now for all gameplay mechanics and cosmetics in the gamesys, INI files, etc (no custom installation), and another project or utility for most of the cosmetics seen mostly in INI files (some custom installation could help). After loading every FM, reinstall the second minimalist project to restore the cosmetics. Or have Garrettloader automatically restore the cosmetics. Or some other utility ...
NH does not have to do all the work, so he can rest for awhile from all the great work he did. Someone else can review the changes made to all INI files after the minimalist project is installed, document the features that affect cosmetics, and then give it to NH for review, and possible custom installer :)

Another question: are AI automatically assigned voice schemas or do we do that manually? Maybe it's just a newbie question, and I certainly haven't finished Komag's tut, but I'm not sure if the two AI I've so far placed are supposed to be silent or what. While I'm asking newbie q's, does Komag align wall textures any specific way? I believe mine are stretched, and thus looking horrible, and from some slight Unreal tut experience I recall different texture alignment options.

Yup, the AI should definately be chatting away on you. :) Just make sure that your reconstructed meta files were moved into the sound folder.

Yep, it's the first thing I did after reconstructing them -_-'.. Always problems *sigh*

Just right click the wall and select Align - Planar

You are either running in non-debugging mode or in windowed mode, right? Otherwise no sounds will play.
I did have a similar problem at one stage; AI voices and footstep noises wouldn't play. I fixed it by reinstalling, so I don't know what actually causes it.

Nevermind about the audio problem. Nope, wasn't running in Windowed mode. I did a recent reinstall of Windows and added a new hard drive. Instead of formatting everything, I left all the old files (including system) on the old hard drive, then moved everything onto the newer one. This amounts to having all the Thief 3 files but no registry entries :laff: Silly me forgot to remember I needed to install it. I was actually playing Thief Gold the other day without it having anything in the registry. What a dunce :joke:.
Just sucks Thief 3 deleted my T3EnhancED folder when I did the reinstall... I'm used to installations asking or telling me everything will be wiped before doing it :nono:... Luckily I have file recovery software; let's just hope the Komag Tut missions open up when I reinstall T3EnhancED (maybe not rooted in the main Thief 3 directory this time).

I see you started using T3Enh, deadman. No more retro-HUD problems? ;) I recently talked to two Polish T3edites. They also uninstalled T3Enh, because they could not stand the old HUD. :( It's a pity so much work ends in wastebasket...

Overly dramatic for people throw T3Enh in the trash. Imagine Dromed being thrown away because of the hud in T1/2. It is unfortunate the hud is important when making FM's, because I might not see the great art work. Please consider a player, like me, might restore his own hud anyway before playing an FM.
