Any art that is not intended to glorify God is blasphemy. And therefor it is not art.
Ah, finally some clean Gothic spirit in this soup of endless, confused post-modern nagging over what is Art and what is not.
It takes God to fully understand Art... or a shot of Green Fairy.

To me Doisneau's pic lost its appeal when it was revealed that it was staged. :(

Next thing you're gonna say love is but a psychotic obsession?! :o

If it's staged, the authenticity of alleged beauty of the moment is lost.

At first I had the same reaction, but there's a part of it that gives even more value to the work, waking from a dream of innocence and sincerity. If the sum of your pre-staged thoughts and then the whole downfall into the real world doesn't make for an extremely interesting while visually appealing work of art, I don't know what does.

To me it's a bit of the contrary.
The picture is still pretty (and I'm not saying I don't like it) but it was like a stolen moment, capturing the essence, the spontaneity of love. It had that kind of magic je-ne-sais-quoi that Doisneau had captured, the perfect moment, witnessed by chance. It was incredibly romantic.
But no, it's staged. It's fake. They're actors. And for me that spark is gone. All that remains is just a pretty picture.
Perception. It's a funny thing. :)
