Stunning work, Aja. The shot of those birds has an evocative, rich quality; I want to wrap it around me and use it as a blanket.
Also: for god's sake just ignore Renegen like the rest of us. He's not going to break a year and a half losing streak anytime soon.

These photos are mostly good without being particularly remarkable. The shot of the birds, however, is truly outstanding. In fact, it's my new desktop wallpaper. Tremendous stuff.

It's an inside joke, the point of inside jokes is that you can use them everywhere.

Guys, please don't fuck up this thread.
Aja, these are wonderful. I hope you won't mind if I "borrow" them. :sly:
For personal use, of course.

Just because you can doesn't meant you should.
And if you do, you should at least try to keep it subtle enough that the plebs outside the loop don't have to worry their little unsophisticated minds over what it could mean.
Aja, those pictures are very nice, especially the sunrise ones :thumb:

Well, bear in mind my knowledge of photography consists of little more than a vague understanding of the Rule of Thirds. ;)
Everyone is commenting on the birds; that was an interesting shot. I was wandering down to the pier, as the rolling fog in the sunrise was particularly attractive. The lake level is quite low this year, so the reeds along the shore have built up a fair amount. As I approached the water, those birds (who had been hidden in the reeds) were startled, and burst out unexpectedly. The camera I used isn't mine, so I wasn't familiar with its functions. I didn't even give it time to focus, just pointed and shot (the fact that the birds aren't centered in the frame shows how little time I had to compose the shot). Thankfully, the shutter speed was set high enough and I caught the image with a clarity I didn't hope for.
So the moral of the story is: $700 might seem like a lot for a sub-amateur photographer's camera (though you can go much higher), but it's worth it. Most of these shots wouldn't have been possible otherwise. If I ever get some money, I might even buy one for myself :D
