I'm curious about peoples' opinions of MS Office 2007, after having used it. Please share. Cheers.
I personally couldn't get past the new GUI, the context-sensitive Ribbon, which replaced all of the menus. Out of frustration of not being to do simple commands without referring to help, I switched to OpenOffice.org and haven't looked back since. The recently release OO.org v3.0 can now natively read OOXML format documents, thank God.

I hovered my mouse over Report Spam for a good minute after reading this post.
I probably still should've clicked.

I HATE the way OO 3.0 handles bulleted and numbered lists. I actually genuinely regret upgrading, because it's such absolute bullshit how it works now.
The big problem with OpenOffice, in general, is that they seem to completely revamp their functionality with every release, and every time it makes it significantly harder to do basic things (like the aforementioned lists).

Been using office 07 for I guess about two years now (or whenever it first was released?). I don't see anything wrong with it.

I never used Word much before Office 2007, so with fresh eyes on both of the GUIs, I have to say that 2007 is vastly superior. I know it can be irritating to learn a new interface, but I'm hoping future versions keep the ribbon, even if it's just an option rather than default.

I love the way Microsoft has just forgone all continuity between products. Finding shit in Vista, IE 7 or Office 2007 is a pain in the ass until you can remember where they moved all the shit.
I can't wait to see how messed up Windows 7 is. :nono:

I used Word 97 for an horrendously long time, then Word 200 in work and now Word 2007 at home. I haven't been using it for anything more than simple typing so far, but it looks and feels a lot nicer than 97 ever did. There was the odd head-scratching moment when trying to find an effect but that soon passed.

Word 200
That's the one involving stone tablets and a chisel, right? ;)

Tell me about it - I still haven't found out where backspace is yet.
I had meant to say 2000, then checked to make sure it wasn't 2003 and forgot to then add the last digit. :p
