Apart from the Joan Rivers nose job, I don't think it looks that extreme. He's a 50 year old guy with a history of facial injuries. That picture actually covers up the weirdest part of his makeover which were his eyes - they seemed to grow further and further apart with each surgery.
I'm not saying he wasn't obsessed with plastic surgery, I just think people often forget how disfiguring a broken nose and catching your head on fire might actually be, and fail to weigh that in with the obsession.

So after Saint Elvis let me introduce you to..... Saint Michael Jackson...

The king of pop and the king of rock are gone. The only king left is BB. I'll be a sight more sad on that day. Nothing compared to the day Ray Charles left us but sad still.
I can't explain why some get to me and others don't. Don't care to. Just the particulars of your heart I reckon.

. . .Again, I've got to take issue with the "skin bleaching" charge (and I've said this in other threads before he died so there) . . .
Don't get me wrong fett, I was aware that he had a skin disorder, I was thinking generally more along the lines of the plastic surgery and not being comfortable with who you are or what you look like. But he's not alone - people have nose jobs, boob jobs, face lifts etc. etc. and he's certainly not the only one whose every bit of reconstruction gets picked apart by our delightful media.
And whilst I was waiting for Glastonbury highlights last night, there were a couple of tribute programmes on and I realised it was the first time I've seen Thriller all the way through. I couldn't watch the zombie part before. :laff:
Yay for Thief! I'll never be afraid of zombies again.

They lose their luster after you've played a bit, don't they?

I agree (seen BB live 6-7 times), but just to keep in with the theme of entertainment idols as pedophiles, a little word about BB.
BB does these great monologues in between his songs live. His band plays a blues bed behind him, while he just rambles, with that great voice. He could read the phonebook and it would be interesting. Last time I saw him at his club in Manhattan, he went on for about 5 minutes about standing on the corner of Broadway and 42nd and seeing all those fine young girls - how pretty these young women are, and how they make him feel happy to be a man - he uses this as an intro to:
Sweet 16
Somehow, he could pull it off, an 80 year old guy lasciviously talking about 16 year old girls, and somehow it's not creepy. OK, well, it is when you think about it, but still.

Oddly enough, I don't think I've ever heard a Michael Jackson song outside of "Beat It", which I saw once on Al TV.

Impossible. Where have you been?
I don't believe that MJ's surgery is anything to do with his vitiligo (which, afaik, isn't painful).

Says who?
Still tired of hearing Beat It, Billie Jean, & Thriller. At least the women on the block have stopped crying and carrying on. As long as you don't mention it, of course.
