FWIW, what MJ did better than ANYONE, is videos. Big, well-directed, visionary videos, full of famous faces. Most of the full versions were well over10 minutes long, and had great cameos, acting, or dance routines. He was the King of Music Videos in my mind.
I grew up when MTV was just getting itself started, and he was a huge part of its success in those early years.

I think it's any MJ female fans over 25; older women around here (a predominantly African-American neighborhood) were gathering together in backyards & out in front of their aptmt. buildings actually crying & sobbing.
As much as I liked MJ's earlier music, I'm really tired of hearing Beat It, Billie Jean, & Thriller coming from just about every house on the block from sunrise til the wee hours of the morn.

Yeah. Micheal Jackson "DIED". I liked some of his stuff, and he was a superb dancer and performer.
I'll miss his antics. But I love the header for this thread. He DIED. Not passed away, went to his maker or any of that euphimistic crap.
