Aha, a self-reflexive statement!
Wait, what?
fett on 26/6/2009 at 18:42
For those of us who actually kinda liked the guy, give it 24 hours before putting on your asshats.
Sulphur on 26/6/2009 at 18:58
I agree, fett. Some amount of respect for the recently departed, at least. My comment was aimed squarely at Koki, FWIW.
Jacko did influence my childhood with his music. It was hard to be a kid in the late 80s/early 90s and not be influenced by it, y'know? The man had unrivalled talent when it came to his tunes. And he really was the consummate entertainer.
Billie Jean still happens to be my favourite song/video combination of all time, from way back when I was a 12 year old who'd just seen it on the telly and left utterly gobsmacked by it.
It's sad to see one of the real legends leaving us like this. Rest in peace, Michael.

If you had concert tickets for the Michael Jackson gigs this year, don't worry, the plastic surgeon has enough bits left over to make another one.
This one made me laugh out loud.
Also lol @ "god dammit dethtoll" tag before I even fucking posted in here. Again.
I have a friend who's basically saying anyone who doesn't want to dance on Michael Jackson's grave is a pedophile. That includes a neutral opinion like mine (I feel he made a huge contribution to music but that contribution ended years ago). Then again she acts like she's 16 sometimes (she's 22) so I don't know what the fuck her deal is.
[edit] Oh, as long as I'm here... here, have (
http://virt.vgmix.com/music/arrange/virt_-_thriller_vrc6.mp3) a VRC6 (Castlevania III soundchip) cover of "Thriller".
SubJeff on 26/6/2009 at 19:58
Her deal? She's clearly an idiot.
I'm all for bad taste jokes, but a bit after the fact. I can see the funny in them, but I think its just a bit too early. A man has died ffs and when one of the joker's loved ones dies I'd like to see them take it on the chin when someone makes a joke at their expense. It's almost like there is a race to reel out the most ha ha ha lets joke about the dead famous person these days.

Why, is Michael Jackson a loved one of yours? Did you go over to his house for dinner 3 times a week? Did he let you play Moonwalker on his Sega?
No?
Then why get upset about a few jokes at his expense? I mean, it's not like he didn't make it easy while he was alive.

Christ, this is Michael Jackson, people. I'm actually (surprisingly) pretty depressed over his death but by god if we can't crack jokes about a skeletal bleached man-child then what kind of an internet is this?
Also: Listening to Off the Wall right now :(
Albert on 26/6/2009 at 20:38
When HE (the guys above) dies, I'll be happy. Michael was screwed up, but I'll remember him for his music, and... moonwalker:

But the kid is not my son!

Which is why living should be made all the more interesting. People take the fun out of dying now a days.
That's simply DISGUSTING! :nono: Me hates injustified cynism.
BWHAHHAHAHAHAH :laff: Ulukai: you're a kind of prophet. How did you get to predict that?
Ulukai on 26/6/2009 at 21:12
I guess I figured Elton's take on the British psyche when Diana died. On the bright side, the Daily Express can now have MJ Mondays instead of Diana Monday :p
