well, late last night, I went to some Russian websites and I have read complete interview with this guy (I am Russian so I can read/translate whatever you guys want!)
and they were talking about SALKER: Call of Pripyat as being released in Fall of 2009
they also said that because new STALKER comes out this fall, release of Metro 2033 is going to be pushed back to 2010
Anyway, are GSC publishing Metro or something? We know that a few ex-SoC developers are working on it.

Well obviously it's ex-GSC developers if the game is being pushed back!

2033 is developed by a different company (but the team consists of some *key* former Stalker devs, yes), so "they also said that because new STALKER comes out this fall, release of Metro 2033 is going to be pushed back to 2010" is a nonsense. Release date of 2033 has nothing to do with new Stalker, if of course, the original Stalker dev team hasn't came together again.
To be completely honest, even though I love original game, I somehow don't believe in new Stalker.
Key devs that worked on original Stalker had left the company just before the game was released, and AFAIK, GSC hired a bunch of new almost inexperienced guys, many of them were just teenagers. Clear Sky is an example, it showed some immature/childish game design decisions (you're really lucky guys you haven't quite got the bandit's slang, it's disgusting, I mean isn't Stalker game supposed to be more serious and surreal?), and poor implementation.

I think it's simply a marketing decision, 2033 is quite similiar to STALKER so they simply did it to not release in the same time frame.

Well I don't know about Ukraine, but in Poland the tracksuit and hood(which most bandits in STALKER prodly wear) is pretty much a symbol of it's own subculture which pretty much fits your description. Actually, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dres) Wikipedia has an article about it. So no big deal for me, sniping them is therapeutic.

Yes, something like that here too.
Bandits were ok in the original, but devs overdid them in CS. I don't know, can't stand those voices and flash language, and when I hear that music in Bandits camp in Clear Sky, it completely pulls me out of the game. Something totally opposite to the feel of the original and works of art it's based on.

The reference to tracksuits immediately made me think of our British 'chavs'. And sure enough the article suggests that they are similar to 'Dres'.
The best version is the Norwegian 'Harry' (?)
It does seem a mistake that they have included references to these people in CS. NOt really fitting the mood. I would hate it if this translated into English, so I sympathise.
