I don't have any problems with pad controls (PC), I like my horse, and I love my dog. I haven't played anything for about 2 months, and now I got 45 hours played since the launch day. Binge gaming all the way.

By the way henke, some weird controller stuff going on here. I use a PS4 pad on my PC using Input Mapper, and my triggers
do act as analog accelerators / brakes when in vehicles.
You know what, my mistake. Tried driving a truck again today and there is indeed a bit of analogue acceleration control. But it seems to be pretty faint, like anything more than the trigger half-pressed in is registered as fully pressed. At least I can't detect any difference in speed or engine sound when alternating between half and full press.

It can be hard to gauge as the acceleration doesn't drop off sharply when you release the throttle.

17% completed, just got the upgrade that lets me Fulton vehicles and containers. Still don't have the D-Doggy tho. Wonder when the little fella's gonna show up.

This is how I've been enjoying MGSV this weekend.

Do you mean that you haven't had the puppy encounter yet or that you have, but that DD's not old enough yet to come on missions with you?
If it's the first, I encountered him really early on. I'd just dropped out of the helicopter at night and heard a yapping, a puppy came running up to me and I extracted him.
Maybe go back and try some of the earlier missions again, see if he pops up.
My DD is awesome and my bestest bud. I played with booblady for a while to level her up, but at the end of the day, I found DD to be a much more reliable companion.
Where you have to specifically tell Quiet to scout areas, DD reveals everything around you as you go with a light woof for each target. And Quiet doesn't necessarily pick up all surrounding enemies. That and her incessant humming is annoying as fuck, quite ironic given her name.
DD is also now equipped with his own sneaking suit with built in stun baton. He pounces on enemies, there's a massive electrical discharge, they fall to the ground stunned and DD then does a victory howl.
Oh, and I've changed his appearance so he looks like a fox.

Yeah, never found the puppy. Will replay some earlier missions and keep an eye out!
I actually figured I had to extract mommy and daddy wolves and that's how you'd end up with a puppy. Was confused that one never showed up. :p
Although I don't have the animal conservatory either, though all my soliders keep talking about it. Been all over mother base but not seen it yet. Behind a door in Medical I did discover a really dumb plottwist though.

Yeah, that's not exactly intuitive to find.
You actually do have it, but it's a separate location. When in the helicopter choosing where to go to next, switch to the motherbase map, then press Y/Triangle to switch to the conservation platform.
Extra unrelated tip: I notice that a lot of people are wearing the sneaking suit all the time, but I've found that outside of FOB missions, it's actually not the optimal camo choice. Enemies spot you very easily if you're trying to sneak through savannah / desert / jungle in a big ol' fetish suit.
I have played with lots of the camos and found that the leopard print seems to offer good camouflage in the widest number of scenarios.
That and my helicopter is set to play ZZTop's Sharp Dressed Man on arrival.
