Spend all the time you would've spent posting here playing it instead. Problem solved.

Another interesting addition to the series... congrats Kojima. Here's hoping his next game (hopefully there is a next) is just as great.

Useful tips - but man, is the guy annoying!

-The vehicles use the analogue triggers for acceleration and braking, but they treat the triggers as if they were DIGITAL! So it's either full acceleration or none, as if I was playing on keyboard or something. FFS! Did I complain about this in MGS:GZ? I probably did. I mean, it's not a big deal. It doesn't
ruin the vehicles or anything, it's just a baffling design choice.
That's really weird... I hadn't noticed in
GZ (mainly because I only hopped into a vehicle once), but apparently analogue acceleration and braking are in the console version, and driving slowly means you might not get spotted according to a couple of pages I've found. Very strange for a port that otherwise seems to be very good.

I'm playing it on PS4.
You can still drive slow, but you need to do it by alternately pressing and releasing the trigger, instead of holding it down.
also: here's a video I made!

(just gameplay, nothing spoilery)

Been a weekend of intensive MGS V playing. I'm at 10% Completed right now. HOME STRETCH, BABY!
Here's something cool that happened today. I'd finished a sidemission where I had to sneak into a powerplant and steal some blueprints, afterwards I decided to take some time off and just roam the countryside. I rode to the northernmost part of the map and found a huge fortified base. While trying to figure out how to get inside, I took a look at my map and noticed a truck I'd tagged earlier was heading towards the base. Thinking fast I rode my horse onto the dirtroad, got off and hid behind some nearby rocks. When the enemy truck showed up they hit the brakes and started shouting at my horse to get out of the way, while I snuck up behind and climbed into the back. After that the truck moved on and drove right into the base, taking me with it. This really is emergent gameplay at it's best, when you can look at a situation, go "hey, I wonder if this'll work!" and then it actually does!
And here's a video of mission 10. Some of these missions have taken 2 hours to finish, but this one was done in under 10 minutes. Though I suspect you could spend a lot more time with it if you tried sneaking into the prison at the start and rescuing the other prisoners. I also noticed that if you start this mission during the day instead of the night your target will not be sitting in the car ready to be transported, so you'll have a lot more time to sneak into the prison.

Something wrong with the rating system. You may get caught, kill lots of enemies, leave lots of traces, alarm the whole camp, and still get S if you're fast enough. Other bonuses like prisoners saved, or no alarm, or headshots etc. etc. are negligible in comparison. As a result, if you're stealthy, it sharply complicates getting the S because it slows you down.

Hmm, yeah, the only time I've gotten an S is on the above mission, episode 10. I think the ranks go all the way up to S++ tho, so if you wanna get that you probably need to be both fast and silent.
