Merry Xmas everyone! :D
I will be having my Xmas dinner today (24th here) as I'm working from 8am to 8 pm, for my sins, tomorrow. (Actually I volunteered to do the Xmas shift as my gf is also doing it as are many of our friends. Get lots of time off after instead so don't feel too bad for me :p ).

Christmas Eve is ALWAYS oyster stew; Christmas is usually ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans cooked for about half a day with onions and bacon, and lemon meringue pie. Oyster stew or dishes with oysters seem to be common on Christmas Eve; I wonder where that originated. My mom always said she served the stew because the copious amount of milk knocked us kids right out and got us out of the way. Here's to Christmas, traditions, and memories!

I wish oysters were a common Christmas food around here. For me, Christmastime dinners have always been about eggs, eggs, and more eggs. It starts with eggs benedict for breakfast, then moves to deviled eggs, potato salad with eggs, homemade egg nog, ham and eggs, then finally, egg custard pie.
The extended family is never pleasant to be around after our big egg spree. Regardless, we all still have a Merry Christmas.
I hope the same goes for you and yours, everyone. Merry Christmas. :D

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays TTLG'ers!
This is honestly shaping up to be the best Christmas in years for us. I have to work tonight (Christmas Eve), and tomorrow morning, but it is only two, four-hour shifts, and I get double-time.
Someone has to walk, feed, and clean the cages of the 43 doggies (and 2 kitties) that are boarding over the holiday!
