Merchants wearing armor... - by Lukin

Hello, everybody! I've been lurking around for a week or two, and I think this forum is great. You guys are really helpful and all that. But now I have a question.
This is my first time playing through the game. Instead of just doing quests and stuff, I've explored all over the island. So now I'm like level 23 after only doing one or two Blades quests. Anyway, during my explorations I've found all kinds of awesome weapons and armor. I've had to sell some of the stuff along the way, because I just couldn't carry it all. But I've tried to keep full sets of the armor I've found. Due to my being a goof, I had to drop my only Orcish shield in favor of a shiny new Daedric shield. And now I can't find it again. :)
I've sold probably three other Orcish shields to various merchants, including the guy in the Fighters' Guild in Balmora. Instead of putting it in his For Sale pile with the rest of the junk I've sold, he's decided to wear it, and now I can't buy it back.
Long long post made short: When you sell a merchant a piece of armor, and they decide to put it on, is there a way to get it back short of murder?
Thanks a lot, guys.

Only way is to sell him a nicer shield than the Orchish one.

You can always sell him a shield with a higher rating that Orcish (that daedric shield of yours will be handy ;)) You can get an Indoril Shield too... unless you happen to have any spare glass/ebony/daedric ones lying around.

This reminds me of something i've been pondering for a while. If you enchant a piece of armour with, say, Constant Effect Drain Health, could you sell it to a merchant so that they equip it? You'd just have to wait a minute or two until they die from said enchanted effect, rob their corpse, repeat on next merchant. Of course, you'd lose potential gold from selling stuff to them, but it could be useful. :ebil:
Just a thought.

Yes, you can. And it doesn't count as murder :ebil:
If you've got Bloodmoon, try selling the Mantle of Woe to a trader with a stall outside :D

I got quite a fright after i offloaded some thing's at Arrille's Tradehouse, then looked up and saw he'd suddenly put on a Dark Brotherhood mask. I thought he was gonna yell "Surprise!" and attack me.
