Look here sweetcheeks, while some of the stuff (actually, just about everything) the dude said is pretty darn wacked out (1/3 of joint income? Wtf?) I have to say that I agree with this:

That comment seems to me to be rather unrelated to the issue in general
it's a mechanism employed by men to keep an attitude of "hey, I can handle her when she's RAGING cos I'm MALE"
