Seeing pictures of an F-18 will forever remind me of a library book I took out in school all about modern jets, only to find someone had scrawled "Wicked" on most of the pages along with large penises coming out of the ground crew's heads. Those were the days.
There's something about the elegance of WWII-era aircraft and brute force engineering of cold-war era jets that I find fascinating. The newer stuff, such as the F-22 and Eurofighter, not so much.

Agreed. The F-16 and F-18 were pretty cool in their own right but hearing the P-51's roaring Rolls Royce gave me goosebumps :D

I don't like flying.
But I do like how that plane looks.
:)
Cheers, raphy!

Whilst not being into planes much, I have been round the museum at Duxford, it's definitely worth a visit. I went with a friend who likes planes, and I liked seeing the Concorde and also oldies like the Spitfire and even a WW-I biplane or two. Anyone near Cambridge with an hour or so free is recommended to have a looksee :)
