I'm near to complete my first bot. I am waiting for the translating of the Thief 2 animations from Shadowspawn.
In the meanwhile, I used some dummy animations to test the AI, and used the Gamall's spell as weapon.
When all (sounds, proper weapons and speeches) will be completed, I will release this AI.
Here's some funny screenshot:

Awesome! Any chance of a video?

I've still to enhance it.
When it will be enough ready, then I will post a video on my channel.

Here we go!!
This is a first video of my combots, after having enhanced some synchronies and added some proper sound:

This is really weird:
I've done by the scratch the whole skeleton of the combot, but when I exported in PSK, the AI keeped a single texture!!
After a whole day of failing attempts, I've tried, in desperation, with a dummy characters, formed by two parallelepipeds:

Some ideas?

UPDATE:
Well, it seems the objects took the material from the one linked to the bone father (or mother??). I am wondering why...

It seems that the PSK character takes the textures of the mesh linked to the root node :/
If this mesh has multiple textures, then the result is unpredictable...
I am wondering how the designers managed to create the original characters, that were formed of three meshes with three distinct textures.

Does this come with any animations at all or will I have to make them myself?
massimilianogoi on 14/6/2009 at 15:14
No, no animations. I just told that this model are distributer for playing it with the animations, that is you could create any animations you want.
As I've said, my animations will come out with the entire model, and in PSA format.
This file instead is more a sort of "gymnasium" for those who want to animate a character.
Here you will find a good tutorial (that is the one I learned too): (

Damn! Today I have been all the day trying making the walk animation, when I have discovered that I've done a wrong skeleton.
When the bot starts to lift the leg, the shin disappears into it, due to the junction:

It is possible to edit the bones without losing all my abundant rigging?
