Oh boy, the original endocrinologist called me today. My testosterone on this latest test was a whopping 15 units, when it should be closer to 40-50. So he's putting me on 3 months worth of testosterone booster shots. Once a week, every week, for the next 12 weeks I get to come in and have 1.5ccs of esterfied testosterone injected directly into my fucking muscles
I asked him "oh hey why the fuck is my prolactin 5 times higher than that of a normal male" and he said "n/m brah s'coo". So now I have 4/5 doctors agreeing that I'm fucked, with this guy thinking it's of no concern. At any rate I should be seeing this other endocrinologist relatively soon so I'll see what he says
SO I'm getting low doses of testosterone with no aromatase inhibitors which I think is just negligent, no consideration for my prolactin levels and still waiting on E-E-E-ENHANCED MRI I I and new doctor. Hopefully in the meanwhile I get enough testosterone in me before it aromatises such that I can stick it in as many girls who unfortunately wander in front of me
Also I won 2 tickets to a hockey game for best costume on halloween. go knights!

I can't believe those idiots didn't use contrast the first time. I would think that if they suspected a tumor they would have used it to reveal everything. Idiots!!
Anyway, it's small. Hopefully, it IS operable so that you can get back to normal. Best of luck!
microprolactinomas come with good prognosis surgery v rarely required contrast ah ha ha whatever
go knights, ahem, AR Master
Where are the pics of Halloween costume please?

Isn't that somewhere near what you normally ingest?

Good prognosis! That is great! Of the 15 MRIs I've had, every one was with gadolinium injections for contrast. Admittedly, those were looking at MS lesions or lumbar disc problems/spinal damage so contrast was required. But, I would assume that if the docs weren't sure what exactly they were looking for, it would make sense to use the method that reveals the most while they've got him in the machine. That way, they could avoiding having to do it all again as has happened with AR. Of course now, they do get to charge him for a whole new MRI.

Might be a blood-brain barrier thing, Pavlov: that fucker is a bitch to get through, and once stuff is inside, it's a bitch to get out. I'm not sure how much imaging of tiny brain areas pure bloodvessel labelling would give you, and "Injecting heavy metals into brain" might not be popular.

Different methods are better for different things. One should never presume to know why something was chosen.

IDK, it's worked for me the last 9 years! ;)
Hmm...maybe that's my problem? Too much heavy metal in my brain?

True, and I'm no doctor, just a very experienced patient with my particular problems.
Good luck, AR!!

Here's one more person wishing for you to "get well" ... or at least to get to the same condition you were before. Whichever comes first. I'm a big advocate for free health care, so I hope the system you have in Canada will work for you.
For what it's worth, this has been the funniest and most entertaining thread abour hormonal problems and possible brain tumors (big or small) that I have read so far. Your cartoons are a hoot.
