just to add to my pleas for help. im still trying to work with changing garrett's model, and i came across the work done by ascottk years ago, which i should be able to use. unfortunately he seems to have vanished from the forums, and he saved his work as a .max file, which is impossible to use in blender or maya. so i'm hoping some kind soul with 3dsmax is able to export his .max file into something useable, like say a .3ds file.
edit: you can find it here: (

I could have a go at converting it to 3ds or obj tonight if I get the chance. However I fear that without 3dsmax5.1 and the actorx plugin you won't be able to do much with the mesh by itself. The real difficulty is in getting it skinned and exported in a way that can be used by the game. I think ascottk is the only one who managed to do this. Or have you found a way ;)

I have a system to get it into the game that I'm pretty sure will work, but I need to have to correct skeleton data first. From reading ascottk's posts I assume that his max file has the right skeleton, I just need to be able to read it.
Also from what I've been reading on blender, it seems to have problems with the .3ds format lately, so perhaps exporting it as a .obj will work better.

Ouch, well, my version of 5.1 is goosed ... have to reinstall, sorry for the delay. If you just need the mesh and bones stuff though maybe a later version of max will work? I'll get back to you ...

@CrackedGear: checked your email, I've sent you .3ds and .obj files. Let us know how you get on :)

well this is slowly grinding along. i've got something that loads into t3ed, and doesnt freak out when you play its animations, but at the same time the animations arent quite working. so my latest plea for help is to ask if anyone has the psk importer for milkshape that shockeye made way back in the day.
