I have just become a master for the telvanni and I did a few chores for my patron aryon(sp?) after I did those chores I asked about advancement and he starts saying that I missed my chance to become the magister because I became a master. I loaded an older game and went back before I was made master and he still says I have to get a mouth to represent me in council!
so basically it is saying that I need to get a mouth and therefor become a master before doing the chores to become magister but I can't become a magister because I'm a master!
Help!!!
Also I heard that there is a arch-magister position. Is that true?
Thanks for your time!:cheeky:

Yes... Arch-Magister is the highest position in the Telvanni House.
Once you become Magister you need to gain the support of all (surviving) Telvanni councilors. Or you can kill the ones you don't like. I'm sure you've done that before, right?
Gothren won't give you his vote for Arch-Magister. ... Kill him. Heh. After gaining the support of all living councilors, talk to Aryon to become Arch-Magister.
It's possible to miss being able to become Arch-Magister... hold on a second and I'll look into it.

Hmm... Taken from The UESP:
The bug/feature occurs when you try and advance to the last rank in the House and are told you cannot. It is supposed to start when you advance from the rank of Wizard when speaking to Master Aryon (in Tel Vos, use topic Magister):
I can grant you the rank of Master now. That will give you an equal place on the Telvanni Council. But if you aspire to a higher claim, I can also grant you the title of Magister. By accepting the title of Magister, you are announcing that you deserve the title of Archmagister more than Gothren who currently holds that rank. Which will it be?
However, some people have mentioned that they have problems advancing to Archmagister even if they never choose to have this one time advance to Magister, leaving them quite stuck at the rank of Magister.
In order to advance, you are supposed to speak to Aryon again (topic Magister again).
You have foresworn the title of Magister... But perhaps you have changed your mind. Will you fight Archmagister Gothren and claim the title as your own?
You should choose to fight Gothren, kill him, and return to Aryon to be named as the Archmagister.
Again, however, some people have not been able to do this. The last option for those playing the PC version of the game is to cheat. Open the console using the ~ tilde key and enter the command:
PCRaiseRank "Telvanni"
----------------------------
Hope that helps...

I'm offended that you think that I would kill councilors that I don't like I am a humane person... while I may have killed a few civilians I have good reason... I uh.. heh heh wanted to try out a spell I made :ebil:
*Cough* *Cough* well anyway Aryon wont give me magister because I am a master and I have a mouth(you know what I mean) so I was wondering how to become magister.

I think I got it now- I asked for advancement too early. Thanks for all your help! :cheeky:

PCLowerRank "Telvanni"
You should then be a Wizard again, or possibly a Magister. If you become a Wizard, speak to Aryon about Advancement and he should give you the question. If he doesn't, simply
PCRaiseRank "Telvanni"
until you're Arch-Magister. If you want, kill Gothren just to make it official.

I say... Forget the Telvanni Councilors. Kill them all, proclaim yourself Archmagister even if your rank doesn't, then proceed to kill all who oppose you. ^.^
