Massive stuttering in T2. - by Kurhhan

With patches 1.18 and above i have big stuttering in tight rooms.
Framerate is always 60 but micro freezing is annoying. With RadeonPro and "Tweaks" control, stuttering is a little less but not perfect.
Do you have other ideas on how to get rid of stuttering?
My spec :
Win7 64
i3 2120
HD 6850
4GB
Cheers, Kurhhan.

I think there's an anti-aliasing option in Newdark (cam_ext.cfg file) that gets turned on by default and it causes serious lag, make sure it's disabled

No change with or without anti-aliasing, but thx for answer.

I assume you've already gone through the troubleshooting doc included with NewDark.

Are you using d3d_disp_limit_gpu_frames 1 1 ?

Yes and Yes, thx for replys.
From troubleshooting doc :
Quote:
Problem:
Uneven/jerky frame rate and/or laggy mouse movement even though the
system should be fast enough to do better.
Cause:
Computer is rendering too many frames in advance.
Solutions:
* Set "d3d_disp_limit_gpu_frames 1 1".
* Set frame rate limiter ("framerate_cap") to a frame rate slightly
above the monitor refresh rate (for example 70 to 80 for a 60Hz
monitor).
But nothing helps. Still weird lags especially in tight rooms ( but always 60 fps )

Verify that you are actually changing settings. Try changing a setting that would be obviously different, like setting the framerate cap to 20, or turning on bloom.

I had a similar problem with microstuttering in all 3 NewDark games and I wish I could remember specifically what I changed to fix it. If it wasn't the pre-rendered frames switch, it may have been something under the timing section in the config file. As with anything, I'd also make sure you're running the most recent Catalyst driver.

Thx guys i will try a lot of different setting when i'm gonna back home.

I'm a little desperate here again. I tried big amount of settings and nothing. Now, when i use a trees in FM, stuttering is getting very big ( but always 60fps). Jason you really don't remember what you do ? The same was in System Shock 2. Unpatched version runs great, with new patch, massive stuttering.
