Wow, I really admire what's been accomplished here.

Yeah I have it. I'm playing those three extra's now. Once done, I can get into the game through an editor and fly around the level learning what I can (is that even possible?)

(check page 12 middle for the kind of evidence we need)
got it. btw is what I stated above how we're doing this? 'cause I don't remember there being console commands that would help... ?

A question regarding these maps - in the Thief 2 mission 'Ambush!' after you reach Garrett's home, you get the objective of getting out of South Quarter (that's where it took place, right?) because your home had been comprimised. Now, as far as I remember, you go to the northeastern most part of the map, which is supposed to be the entrance to Shalebridge according to Garrett. Now, on 'The City' map, Shalebridge is no where near South Quarter. This is all from memory, I could be completely wrong. But wouldn't that make no real sense judging by 'The City' map that's being put together?

Correct you are T-Smith. But 'tis a compromise that couldn't be avoided, considering all the other evidence (in this case, evidence numbers 3, 9, 22, 30 and 38, plus maps from Assassins!, Ambush! and Thief3 manual (from page 12)).
The thing is, we have run into a dozen of situations, where we simply had to compromise one way or the other. Thus far we have managed to give atleast a half-plausible explanation to each case, and the one in this case would be:
Thus the interpetation goes that the arrows towards Shalebridge in the Ambush! -map show only the
general direction of Shalebridge. And there it is, also giving a major road from T3map a name, balancing the districts onto a larger area, curves the River which gave us a benefit which we couldn't anticipate by then (Shoalsgate Station, Shoalsgate subdistrict etc.).
As you can all see, ditching any piece of evidence cannot be done: someone always remembers something else than the others. Someone is more of a voyerist, someone more of a mapreader and someone the text interpreter. So we have to include everything.
We will make a full list of all solutions into the website in the end, not to worry. ;)
EDITTO:z-vap:
No, not really. I never learned Drom-Ed, though if you can use it for this then go on. I used mainly three sources: (
http://thief.webz.cz/) The Complete Thief Index, my memory and simply playing ingame. Unfortunately, all three sources are lacking in Gold material. :(
Basically, you could go ingame and read all the scrolls, listen all the conversations and taking screenshots of all maps (via fraps), and posting the maps in photobucket.com. I know you might not have the time, so an estimation for such a project for 3 missions is about 1-2 hours (as experience goes).
And indeed, read the list of evidence to understand what is considered evidence and what not.

Will do.
I haven't had the time as of yet, so I'll let you know how things go.

Areas Under the City:
The Cavern Karath-Din
Um, Karath-Din? thats not a place. I've heard a Mechanist woman say this in thief 2: "most i wander around and find karath-din" or somethign liek that. She was speaking of Karrass but said it wrong or something and im guessing din is slang for then. Or do I have it all wrong? if so sorry, but i thought she was talking about Karrass not a place when i heard her say that.

She wasn't speaking of Karras. Karath-Din was the City before The City. It was where the Precursors lived, and the current City is built over-top of it's ruins. You go there in Thief 1 in 'The Lost City' and again in Thief 2 (where it's referred to as the 'KD' site).

You've become confused between Karath-din and Karras. The mission you hear that is at the KD site.
sNeaksieGarrett on 7/7/2005 at 23:32
ohhhhhhh. now it makes sense. thank guys. :thumb: She was saying she would have to wander around at the KD site to find him. oh well. would have been funny if she really meant to say karras then and was just having speech problems :sly:
