I'm now playing my first run through the game in version 1.0004. I just got to the Dark Valley and, surprisingly, the Mama's Beads artifact that one usually finds near the transition point to the Garbage is nowhere to be found. Was it removed in this new version? Anyone who has played in 1.0004 can confirm me if you've found it there or not?
Also, in this version (at least to me) the number of stashes one finds seems to have been toned down a lot - which is actually a good thing, since previously there were just too many stashes being found, and clearing them all was sometimes a very hard task (I always like to clear all stash markers before leaving a map).

It's moved elsewhere, I know that for sure even though I installed the patch after I retrieved the artifact.

Before 1.0004 you could get a pointer to a particular stash unlimited number of times. After 1.0004 you can't get a pointer to a stash more than once per map. I.e. if you leave the map there is a possibility you'll get a pointer to that stash again, etc. Bardak's "bug fix attempt" for 1.0004 (from august,24) fixes it and it becomes per game - you empty a stash and that's it, no more pointers to it. I recommend it as it fixes also reputation, there was a serious error in calculation, as well as considerable amount of other glitches.

OK, I just found out where the Mama's Beads are. I've found them near the guitar and the 'hand radio' in the Dark Valley.
I've also found out that the Wild Territory is now completely insane in the new version :p

Upon returning, first visit still is the same. Plus optional quests were turned on there in 1.0004, and I actually love to do them - lots of fun, but a bit scary :) Check this post (

As for Mama's Beads I learned, that besides Fang's stash in Pripat, there is another stash with it on the Wild Territory - "Stash of 'Lucky man'". But I don't know how to get a pointer to it.

No need to return to the Wild Territory for it to get insane. Yesterday I went there for the first time. Everything seemed normal. I saved Kruglov, and led him to the exit. Then I stayed in the Wild Territory, clearing stash markers and moving stuff around - getting all my artifacts and monster body parts closer to the exit to Yantar, and picking up all weapons and goodies from the guys I killed so that I could sell them at the Bar. I waited until midnight, because I wanted to pick up the artifacts that spawn near the electro anomalies. While I was still there, I got the automatic mission of 'Eliminate the bandits and mercs at Rostok' (apparently 'Rostok' and 'Wild Territory' are one and the same location), given by the Barkeep. While moving towards my objective I was suddenly attacked by a horde of rats and two Pseudodogs. But that wasn't the worst part.
When I thought that everything was over, and was almost reaching the exit to the Bar, I noticed the Dutyers near it, which is something new. As I passed them, suddenly I saw appearing near the exit, all at the same time, another horde of rats, three Pseudodogs, three Snorks, half a dozen Blind Dogs, and a Bloodsucker. I had to run away to get close to the Dutyers, because I'm sure that if I were alone, there was no way I was going to survive. As if that weren't enough, while we were fighting the mutants, four bandits also showed up. Besides, I had already noticed that bandits and mercs keep spawning at the exit to the Bar. I use the backpack right next to the exit very often, to store artifacts to be moved later on to Yantar, and those enemies kept spawning right next to me when I was storing stuff there.
