So I wanted to rebalanace the birthsigns and hopefully introduce some new interesting ones. What do you guys think is unbalanced about the current birthsigns?

Sounds like a topic for the hints/spoilers/modding forum.

why is hint/spoilers lumped with modding? I'm interested in modding but wouldn't touch a hints/spoilers forums with a ten-foot pole. The whole of seperating the hints/spoilers section is so people who don't want the game spoiled can discuss other things.

Because modding and spoilers often overlap, especially when you mod pre-existing events or items. Simply being in the Spoilers forum will do you no harm, as thread titles are generic. Unless you're too tempted to read them ;)
Fortunately, this one doesn't, and since modding doesn't officially have its forum, this one can probably stay where it is unless Striker has an objection.
Back to Birthsigns:
To tell you the truth, it's not that birthsigns are under or overbalanced. I just find them more or less useless. I wonder if it's possible to make birthsigns slightly more creative? But then, it wouldn't be a rebalancing mod at all.

The Lady and The Steed needs something done. Both are underpowered compared to the other two attribute signs (Warrior and Thief). The Willpower from The Lady isn't as generally useful as the Strength from The Warrior and the 10 extra Speed from The Steed isn't as good as the 10 Agility & 10 Luck found in The Thief.
I feel that The Warrior and The Thief are somewhat balanced against the remaining 9 signs.
The Atronarch is the only Birthsign I can see as close to overpowered, but with the major advantage comes a significant disadvantage. The only problem is that you can work around the disadvantage without too much trouble.

So from this, I'm assuming that the Thief doesn't have Moonshadow (invisibility for 60 secs each day) anymore. Is that right? It was an overly useful power to have - it helped me steal a piece of equipment worth tens of thousands from the Dren plantation early on in Morrowind - but I'll miss it :p

The Moonshadow power gets its very own birthsign, the Shadow.

Ah, thanks. That makes for a difficult choice...

I actually got really upset with invisibility in Morrowind after my first game because I choose thief BS with a thief character thinking "pwn! I can steal anything with this" (yes, I can pronouce the word pwn in my head) only to find out that as soon as I picked somethign up I was visible and if someone was watching I got caught, which was lame, I efing invisible yo! So I said screw it in Oblivion (but still chose the thief BS, because I like the stat bonus and +10 to luck is nice since in Morrowind I ended up with max stats save for luck which had no attributes it boosted so all I could do each level is raise luck by one point) and went hunting for chameleon equipment (and might have maybe possibly made a ring that gave 30% chameleon and water walking because I envied the DB dude's sudden invisibility trick after he talked to me and I'm rampantly afraid of water, and being underneath it)

In Oblivion does invisibility stop when you steal something (sry I didn't understand)?
