Hello everyone,
Long time lurker, first time (I think) poster here with a question I hope you guys will help me.
I've been, for the first time since 1999, seriously getting my hands on Dromed and trying to come up with something decent to play. Most answers so far I can get through tutorials and your posts here but I can't find how to do what's on the title.
Basically, when I'm in this room and the electrical lights (controlled by switch) are on, I shouldn't be seeing the light shaft I placed next to the window and there's a blue animlight next to a window but dimmed. When I turn the switch off, lights off, blue animlights turn to smoothly brighten and the light shaft should show up.
So, I basically did all the lights correctly with the Inverter and etc. but I can't figure out how to hide/show an object.
Thank you for your help!

Why not look at the NVScripts, NVPhantomTrap in particular. If there is a need for it there is also NVGlowTrap. And NVGenericScalarTrap can fade in and out any scalar property.

I would just use NVPhantomTrap on the light beam. Since you want them visible when the lights are off, you can just put NVPhantomTrap on the beam and an inverter between the light switch and the beam. YOu can also skip the inverter if you add an Editor > Design note of NVPhantomTrapOn="TurnOff"; NVPhantomTrapOff="TurnOn" to the beam.

You may also need to start with Renderer→Transparency (alpha) set explicitly on the beam.
