Hi, this seems to be a place to stay- for the time I play Arx.....
I've played up to where the counsil has met- so everybody knows: I am the 'Bewahrer'.
But the game has put me up to many major walls, which at the moment seem not to be solved.
1. Level 8 at the Dwarfs: the mutated Killer Rat follows me and I can't find a way to get rid of it ! I'm already equipped with the dwarf meat, the power stone, the key- and I know where to go. But the uge rat ignores every weapon, poison and Magic doesn't work. I hate such hasty sequences- where you have to keep running !
2. I found the entrance to the 'Ilsiedes': but they are way to strong and fast for me. I could wander around invisibly: but that uses much to fast my Mana !
3. I couldn't save or find the daughter of the sales woman ? But I killed the demon at the altar at level 4 ???
4. A the hidden tempel of Akbaa: the Lich is to strong and the golems don't react to my kind request to begone...... but the first one (from across the Lich) somehow I killed.
5. And the Ice-Dragon: hah ! Nice sequence- but no use to steal an egg- she's a powerful mage !
Now the only friends are the trolls and the humans chant me: 'Free us, Bewahrer !'
Well, now everything seems stuck- could anybody know If I put myself into a dead end ? I really 'combed' through the levels and found 'everything' including gates and places that to react - although they are visible.
Thanks for any small help !!!!:)

I've played only the demo: I'm from Italy.
I'd like I could help you. But you seem you have played a lot, so Id like some tip about weapon enchantig (how many powers on a single Item, which kind of powers, etc.)
Sorry for no help
I hope you'll answer to my question
The force be with you!

Hi,
well.... you have a far way to go at the retail version !
1. You will read at certain.... not easy to find books about weapon enchanting- with garlic, with poison potion, with those special .... stones (forgot the name, but you find two at the beginning), with crushed bones, with golem hearts, and maybe a lot other stuff.
2. You just klick on the (ex.) poison potion and then on the weapon (either in use or at inventory) an 'YOU' say --- ok ... now the weapon is poisoned. Or with another substance.... 'Now, thats something new !'.
3. You need a certain level of object knowledge (at least 60 ?).
4. It can be done with magic also: havent done it yet. You need certain level and runes for that.
5. I am not very certain about the effect ! (Maybe I'm not doing it perfect). Because those two precious stones (Red with yellow stripes) didn't really make the weapon more enduring.... like some book said.
6. All in all: wow. what a way to go. I just a little frustrated at the moment. The stupid rat kills me with ONE strike.

@HarSul:
On your questions:
1) You don't have to go there, yet. But you can, of course, if you want to. To get rid of the black biest you have to find some kind of "trap". You can't kill it with regular weapons and magic is deactivated in the dwarven halls, so run & seek!
2) Another part you won't have to enter till the near end of the game. By then you should have a more powerful weapon and armor (actually, you'll find a Ylsiden-armor later in the game).
There are some nice spells that might help you killing the Ylsiden, anyway. I used "flamewave (Flammenwelle)", when they stopped speeding around. The flames slowed them down a lot and with a bit of luck one firefield already killed him. Just make sure you have enough mana and he stays inside the flames by circling him. Other nice (and undocumented) spells are "Rhaa Vitae" and "Vitae Movis". But IMHO they are too powerful and destroy the balance of the game.
3) You probably arrived too late...
4) The Lich can be killed quiet easily using the "Mana-Theft (Mana-Raub)"-Spell. Though I didn't have had any problems killing it with my standard weapon and some health-potions.
About the golem in the security area:
first of all, this is an important part. During the counsil meeting you were told to destroy the meteor in the Akbaar-temple. That's why you're here, right? Unfortunately the way to the meteor is blocked by a three-part security-system which the golem is part of.
To active him I did the following:
-use the golem-heart on him
-wait a moment
-double-click the golem (Am Shagar says something like "Follow me")
-walk to the small room with the platform. The golem should follow you and stop on the platform, opening the portcullis next room.
I guess you can figure out the rest of the security-system on your own. Just carefully read the notes you found on the priests.
5) You'll need a dragon egg at the end of the game. You can either pay the dragon for the egg or, if you feel strong enough, attack him. I did't find it too hard. "Feuerwelle" did quiet a good job on him ;)

Well Quorthon,
a big thank you !
As to those many places where I are to early: sadly enough not fast enough for the little girl (darn !).
Thats my tactical way: first search and do as much as possible.
Thank you again !
HarSul (gone down to Arx, after this letter)
