Just what the title says. He runs up to the first point where he´s supposed to take his measurements, says his line and then just stands there like a lemon.
I´d like to continue with the main quest without killing him, what do I do?

I don't remember, may he waits for you to kill some nearby enemies?
Or perhaps try to load earlier save or autosave.

There isn't any real advantage for you if he survives, is it ?

If he survives, you'll get anti-psi thing and will be able to explore area around x16 before going into it without haste. IIRC.

Well, Sakharov gave me Anti-Psi thing even after I failed prortect Kruglov, but it was "unadjusted". I wonder if if could have had a different, perhaps completely undistorted perception of reality if the device was adjusted. And yes, he urged me to proceed quickly but I didn't feel like I was going to miss something by exploring the area slowly. I shall try to protect Kruglov better this time to see the difference. The effect of mind control near X16 and Brain Schorcher is cool, the feeling of your mind going is chilling.

No, perception is the same, but if the device is adjusted the the emitter's waves don't harm you at all.

Just try reloading a savegame from before you accepted the mission. That should do the trick. I once had Kruglov getting out of the lab, and then just standing there in front of the door like an idiot. When I lost my temper and shot him in the foot, he started shooting at me, but still refusing to budge. When I reloaded a savegame taken before talking to Sakharov, I had no more problems. If that won't do the trick, then try a savegame from before you entered Yantar.
