Hi all. I just got my Bretton almost to level 4. Iv'e seen alot on the forums about mages being underpowered. They also say the don't earn much money. So far I have had terrible luck with money. I am in the mages guild and it costs alot to travel to complete the quests. And the rewards I find hard to sell. Especialy at price. (by hard to sell I also mean I want to use them, not sell them). I don't want to invest a lot of time in an underpowered class. I have only earned about 100 gold through alchemy. Finding combinations hard to comeby even though I have about 15-20 ingredients.
Please tell me if a Mage Is a good Class. Also, if the money will pick up in the future. My level 3 Redguard has 800 gold, but he was a trial, he's pretty screwed up. Help!

If you ask me, i would say stick with the mage.
Ok, im just level 2 and only did SedaNeen and Ajira-MGQuests. Now i m koing to AldRuhn.
Cash, what is that. :)
If you are good at alchemy, dont care about the effect. I even made some "Drain Fatigue" Potions and they sell at the same price. Get naked (ok, i would be ashamed, so i wear a cloak) and go out to get igredients.
My max capacity is 225 and i reached it easily (too easily i would say) and droped them all into my house.
If you are mage, then use the plugin: ARCHMAGETOWER
Its at Pelagiad and has a lot of containers vor all (except 2) ingredients.
Threre are a lot of books too i would call cheating, but they are easily deleted with Tesame.

BTW. sell them to Creeper to get the max out of them
Even a little 20$ - 50$ potion will be worth it if you sell 1000 of them
Drain Fatigue and Restore Fatigue are the most common effects i think

Hey thanks guys, I just got my Breton to level 6, almost 7. I have over 3000 gold. Has anybody noticed the Caldera loop? In the mages giuld, first floor, there is a guy who sells two ingredients for a drain fatige. And if he likes you, he will charge 60-80%. The best part is, he never runs out! Just select ingredients, offer, barter, select offer, barter... Best part is.. Creeper is right down the street! I have mage over 6000 gold doing this.
Also, does anybody know what level I should be to complete a quest? Is there some webpage that will tell me? I got to the dwemer passage after about 30-40 reloads, and couldn't go any further because of poison dammage monsters, 2 in one spot in fact. Or the Dwemer tube quest. I got in sight of Marrandus, and ran out of magik potions, could't get past the guar, and 2 Racers, just outside the gate :-(
Anybody know anything that can help?

Magic is really parp, the bad thing about MW is, is that warriors do the most damage. More than anybody. they also have the best mitigation.

Mages are worse off than warriors(you don't see any reflect weapons effects in morrowind, :P) and most of the spells are very bad... but later in the game, your class really doesn't matter, you'll end up maxing out all your skills, and just using longblade, marksman, or bluntweapon all the time.

I don't think mages are a bad choice, it's just that a warrior of some kind is a better choice. Morrowind is very biased, I think. My character now is a Bosmer archer, lvl 37, and he kicks a$$. But my next character is definitely going to be a magic user of some kind. Each character class will bring a different gaming experience.

So what kind of quests can I do at my level that will give good rewards? I suppose I could go get the boots of blinding speed, but all that walking. My armor rating is only 3 so I get killed often, is this normal?
