I'd care more about the history if the film was anything but loosely based on it. As it is it was just a visual feast - but somehow less spectacular than I'd expected. The trailer was over-played. I'd've preferred it if they cut the "political" story line down some more since it was pretty weak and tbh - who cares? And I totally understand why anyone of Persian origin would find the film just a bit wrong.

Yeah, well, how do you think someone of Greek descent must feel about the implication that a bunch of his ancestors were slaughtered by a gang of rag-tag mercenaries wearing Hallowe'en masks led by a giant drag queen?
