That kind of argument just doesn't work, though. Sometimes you have to judge something on its own merits. If you invalidate something by saying "that's not as helpful to the world at large as something else" then you've just dismissed everything. Game developers aren't helping the world as much as environmental workers - so we should have no games. Painters aren't helping the world as much as the peace corps - so we should have no painters. TTLG isn't helping the world as much as The Hunger Site - so we should have no TTLG.
No, you're not comparing like with like there.
A better comparison will be: "I can spend 5 hours writing an article which will have a small effect on public perception" or "I can spend 5 hours writing an article which will have a large effect on public perception". You see, the ends are similar, the effort expended the same, but the payoff variable. That's why your comparisons between TTLG and the hungersite or game developers and environmentalists are ass - you're comparing apples and oranges; I'm comparing those horrible bland green French apples with Cox's Orange Pippins.

That's great. Probably made up, but great nonetheless.

Probably? Hahaha, it's as fake as most of the six-packs on the Spartans, doesn't stop it from being hilarious though. The mental image is everything.

Hold on a second, what the fuck, when did you stop being "killed in the Tsunami," and why didn't I notice before now?
Oh a little while ago. Every now and then this kid pushes this red button and I have to come lumbering out of the sea, make a big ol' mess and stuff. Then I like to hit town for a while and catch up on the 'net goings on.

Well, good job on "not being dead" and all. Had me worried there for a while.

And yet Pirates 2 was a great popcorn flick and you'll see the 3rd, both of which to me are complete shit.
Just shows you cant really judge anything. To me, at least 300 lived up to what it was supposed to be, and there (hopefully) wont be a sequal just because it made tons of money.

It'll go the way of 101 Dalmatians. Increment the number, and you've got an entirely new film!
