Lux Interior, the frontman for the penultimate psychobilly band The Cramps has (
http://www.inquisitr.com/17345/the-cramps-lux-interior-dead/) passed away.
Another irreplaceable dino bites the dust, and likely acquires many new fans in the process.
Now life is short and it's filled with stuff
So let me know baby when you've had enough
Oh do the dead, turn blue
Yeah the surfin' dead, as dead as you
There's nothing on the radio when you're dead
There's nothing at the movie show when you're dead
There's nowhere left for you to go when you're dead
Do the dead, yeah do the dead
Do the dead, surfin' dead'Surfin' Dead by The Cramps'

That's some fucked up lyrics. You are right, I don't know that I'll like them but I'll have to listen now.

A giant of psychedelic surf punkabilly has passed on. Time to break out my copy of
Bad Music for Bad People.

There's something really creepy and unsettling about naming your band "Cramps" (and I don't think it has anything to do with menstruation, if that's where you're going). I'd never heard of them until earlier this year; guess I'll have to check em out now.

Bollocks. There goes the best name in rock. Well, at least he was awesome while he was alive, you can't ask for any more than that.

Though I never got into the Cramps it's a shame when good musicians die. (And for what it's worth, Dax Riggs of Acid Bath/Agents of Oblivion/Daisyhead and the Mooncrickets/Deadboy and the Elephantmen/T-Dax and his White Plastic Soul/Dax Riggs fame writes far weirder, more fucked up lyrics.)

As long as Joey Ramone's still rockin...

Punk's really dead now, huh?

There's always Blondie.

Debbie Harry liked to flirt with the punk attitude and very much the style, but their music always was pop. I don't mean that condescending, she would have earned my respect for her role in Videodrome alone (and being a playboy bunny).

If you didn't like The Cramps then you probably wouldn't like a lot of the older (
http://www.asf-13thmoon.demon.co.uk/) Alien Sex Fiend stuff either. Frequently similar. Quick, go listen to 'em before they start dying too.
