I'm going to do a drive by here and just post a question without giving an informed opinion and hope it takes off.
I like loyalty discounts. I think they're great. I think they make sense.
I bought Call of Pripyat on a loyalty discount because I owned SoC and CS. I'm trying to remember other situations where this happened, I know it has but for some reason the exact example escapes me.
In any case. I'm annoyed, and neckbeardy- indignant that I do not get a loyalty discount for Doom VFR, I own the base game. I paid for the content already. I want a discount to buy the same game again. Even if it has some new content specifically for the new game mode, I feel it would be appropriate. Something in me doesn't even really care about what the discount is, but just the fact that there should be one is something I'm holding a grudge over.
I wasn't going to complain about this, but Talos Principle just got released in VR. Confirmed as exactly the base game, but now in VR. Full price for those who already own it.
Am I being an entitled asshole? (probably) Please tell me why, or why you agree with me. Long winded discussions about the efforts developers go to and how much money publishers take are all totally welcome, but you might not change my mind regarding bitching about it.

The Talos Principle VR is available with automatic 25% off for all existing owners of The Talos Principle. Along with the content available in the base game, the VR adaptation features the full Road to Gehenna expansion free of charge.
.... fuck me.. I * AM * an asshole.

I agree with you that such discounts are cool and probably make sense, business-wise. I disagree with you that we're entitled to them. If I think they're asking for more money for a VR update than it's worth to me, I don't buy it, full stop.

I'll just say this about my own experience bringing VR to a non-VR game. I spent 2 (intense) weeks making In Search of Paradise. I spent 3-4 (admittedly less intense) months on the VR version. It can be
surprisingly much work once you start revamping systems to work with VR. Especially in Doom VFR, it looks like they've significantly changed how the game plays.
