did you try updating your drivers for sound,video and reinstalling the latest version of directx ?
If that doesnt work try uninstalling it and doing a fresh install/patch.
You did patch it right ?

Always try those things when you have trouble with a game, if that fails then you can start looking elsewhere.
check drivers for newer versions and install if needed, reinstall directx, uninstall game, defrag, reinstall game, patch game.
Of course if your sure you have the latest drivers and such you can skip that part.
Solves a lot of problems but not all unfortunately :)
Edit: OK checked sig but STILL not showing, sometimes it does though what gives ?
