I've just restarted playing as my old saves are on a comp in storage. I hadn't gotten very far before so it was no big deal.
I've trapped alot of souls so far. Skeleton Warriors, Dreughs, ect... and alot of the soul gems are valued at 40,000 to 60,000. I can't find anywhere to sell them, and can't make enough money to pay for enchantments. I did enchant a helmet for 15,000. 15 seconds invisibility and i can use it about 20 times so its sweet :)
I know that in Caldera there's Squeak, or Slink, or Sneak, whatever his name is and he started with 15,000. But I sold him a bunch of stolen armor and took most of his cash.
Where can I make some big money? I'm at level 17 (nordic).about 3rd level Fighters guild and second level Mages guild.
========================
I haven't found any clues on how to fix armor/weapons and the only thing I've found for clues on potions was a book saying to mix a few herbs. I can't combine them though. Do I need to buy some tools? Empty bottles?
I appreciate any help, or even really good clues.

There's item durability in this game? Ah yes, that's right.
You can go to different folks, I know the guy in the Balmora fighters guild can repair them.
As far as your money woes, there's some crab that sells stuff for 20k. I believe there's a post in the spoiler section going into more detail about that.

You can also buy armorer's hammers, or get them for free from the fighters' guild chests. Open the inventory, equip the hammer and you'll get a list of your damaged stuff. Click on things to repair them.
As to alchemy, you have to have apparatus. There are 4 pieces of it and you can use one, some or all of them at once. They are: alembic, calcinator, mortar and pestle and another one whose name eludes me. A 'good skooma pipe' can also be used instead of one of the above (can't remember which). Again, you equip the apparatus and you get a potion making screen, with all the ingredients you have listed. You select the stuff you want to use, drop them into the 'lab' and away you go. Bottles will materialize magically out of thin air.
There are big guides to alchemy and to ingredients' properties on the web. (
http://12.145.63.45/~uesp/morrow/hints/mwalchemy.shtml) m0use.net has one.

Merchants' cash amounts reset every 24 game hours, so if you check back with Creeper he'll have money again. He only has 5000 though. There's another one:
The talking mudcrab. He is on a little island next to Mzahnch, which is east of Vivec. Mudcrab has 50000. I used him for a while but it was such a pain going there that I installed a mod that gives Creeper 50000.
I got "creeper more money" at (
http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/mods/mods.asp) if your interested.
And for alchemy, the morter and pestle is the essential apparatus, but the other 3 improve the quality of the potions. To use them, just equip the morter/pestle.

Cool, thanks. I actually have the apparatus and tools, just never equipped them (DOH- that could've saved some cash eh?)
I'm on a quest for the Mudcrab right now. I did think that Creeper had more cassh one time, I'll have to go back :)

Creeper has 5000 gold to barter with
Mudcrab has 10000 gold to barter with(if he has 50k on your game, then you have a mod that gives him more cash...)
Those 2 are creatures, so they buy stuff at full value(no more, no less...) There is also a merchant in the zainab camp, he has 15k or 20k I think, but he doesn't pay full value for things...

Understatement of the year, unless you have really good personality/speechcraft/mercantile skills that guy will rob you blind as surely as any thief. I could offer him a pile of diamonds and he'd offer me a few bucks. :wot:

My mistake. Mudcrab just has 10k. Which isn't bad, but I'd rather have 50k. ;)

but why have 50 if you could have a hundred? If you have a plugin that gives creeper so much money why don't you just use the console to put the money in your pocket? I mean how fun is it to run and kill a couple of ordinators, sell there stuff and buy an enchantment that will kill Vivec in half a strike. Or to buy lots training for you easy gotten money. Kindy takes away the rollplaying aspect af the game:eek:
ohh, and the smiley is just there cause I like it
