Things that don't make sense.
Flash forward problems. The coffin is to small for someone like Ben to be in it, the piece of papers says 'Los Angeles, the body of a man was washed up, further on down the page it says 'artist', therefore the body in the coffin is maybe Charlie's body.
Kate was still wanted by the police, so as soon as she would have got back to america she would have been arrested for her father's murder and sent to prison for the rest of her life. The fact that Jack's father is still alive when he died at the beginning of series 1, as he is mentioned throughout the flash forwards that he's not dead.
Another problem is Charlie drowning, the porthole to the sea is bigger than Charlies body, he could easily swim out of it and back into the station via the moon pool, the room would not have been completely flooded, there would have been 6 to 12 inches of air left at the top of the room, because the porthole is halfway up the wall, the grenade would have blownout the porthole but not the wall, not enough explosives, and the wrong type of explosives, and its shown that the water only enters the room via the porthole.
So the flash forwards are either set in an alternative reality, or the people from the boat are brainwashing the survivors into believing something, thats not real.
I had my money on
Locke coming back to the beach and whipping some Others. But I suppose Hurley was pretty great.
Also, regarding Charlie:
Wouldn't the reason for him not swimming away being that Desmond telling him that he had to die this time in order for Claire to get off the island?
Just because Jack talks about his dad as if he's still alive doesn't mean he is.
Jack seems whacked out of his fucking mind for most of the FFs. Plus the fact that the new Chief of Surgery gives him a WTF look, makes me think Jack's delusional.
I think Charlie let himself die, because Desmond's vision said Charlie dies then they get rescued. Maybe Charlie thought if he doesn't die, they don't get rescued.

There's something really weird about Kate in the flashforward. First of all, she's not in prison, but free and living the good life (nice Audi). Also, she's pretty dismissive about Jack and his ideas, as if she thinks he's a complete loon. This isn't the Kate we're familiar with, who basically idolized him on the island.
Kate aside, if they were all rescued, how come Jack is having trouble locating the island? Man, I'm really going to learn to hate these long hiatuses (8 months!)

Maybe they weren't all rescued?????????????????????????!

It's obviously the characters' doubles from the mirror universe since Jack has a beard.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. A grenade has a 5 second fuse, that's more than enough time to get out of the room, yell something at Desmond and seal the room from the other side. Not to mention the fact that there would be air pockets and that there was more than enough time to swim out of the moon pool, or porthole, if the whole thing did flood.

Great episode, totally unexpected end of season 3 tho. And now we have to wait several months for season 4, damnit.
Anyway, found this cool fact on the lostwikia site.

the funeral home Jack went to was "Hoffs/Drawlar" or to put it another way, an anagram of "flash forward."
What to make of that. :P

Yeah - I caught the Chief of Surgery's WTF look which pretty much gave that away IMO.
The thing that wasn't such a big surprise is that in the future, I'd still hit Kate. :thumb:

it's a 50/50 on whether Jack's dad is still alive, given he blew the pharmacist lady off when she offered to ring the old bugger

I'm certainly not a Charlie fan, but is there some nautical reason I'm not aware of as to why he couldn't have opened that airlock door back open, and not drowned? I feel a bit ripped off.
I also still think that both Ben and Locke are awesome, and am glad they remain. The more screwed up things they do, the better it gets.
Finally, I wasn't terribly comfortable with all the murdering that went on in this episode. Yes, the good guys did all (most of) the killing, the bad guys did the dying, but it seemed so forced and pointless, especially after Ben's SWAT Team fired their three shots into the sand. The hell? And how many times is the Wishmaster going to come back? ((

All in all though, a decent finale. See you in February :erg:
