Hey guys, I think the point of those pictures is not the incredible amazing shrinking teacher, but the images on the blackboard. :laff:
'k, well, my imagination runs overtime now & then I guess. Did we know the Island had a volcano? Or is this something the kids were just learning about in class that day? The presence of a volcano would explain the gray, ashlike substance Locke picked up before they entered Jacob's cabin. (The way this show has been going I was afraid the stuff was somebody's cremains.)
Great. Volcanoes, smoke monsters, invisible telekinetic angry pirate guys, and a psychopathic Ben. Our hapless heroes are definitely facing some pretty daunting challenges here.

Episode: Greatest Hits
A so-so episode that sets up what, hopefully, will be a decent finale.

*sniff* I don't want Charlie to die...
(Actually, I don't think he will)

Another great episode!!!
Do you think Desmond changed the outcome just a tad by claiming he was going to go down to the looking glass (great choice of names, btw :cheeky: ) instead of Charlie; I mean, just by making the decision to go - could that have changed something? There's no way in hell Charlie could have found the room with the blinking yellow light before drowning, had the place been really flooded; or did I misunderstand that part?
Those chicks looked zombie-mean btw. Loved Charlie's little grin when he realized he'd just been captured by Amazon wannabes. Don't think the lad realizes yet he's still in deep doggie-doodoo.
Well, they finally showed Rose & Bernie alive and well, but what about Locke? My guess is he's just lying there while the Island heals him and boy is he gonna be pissed when he's all better! And why didn't Alex just shoot Ben after he handed her the gun? God knows I would have. Save everybody a great deal of trouble; you know, cut off the snake's head & all that. I'm also beginning to doubt (as Alex does) that Ben is her biological father. Danielle said she was with a group of scientists that came to the Island; and since any woman who gets preggums while on the Island ends up dying, that would mean she had to have been pregnant before arriving there. So it just doesn't add up that Alex is his biological daughter.
I'm also wondering just how powerful Jacob really is; do you think he has something to do with the smoke monster? And I'm also wondering if Jacob really told Ben to move on the Survivors immediately or if that's just Ben panicking. If Ben dies, is Jacob going to go apeshit all over the place or just appoint another first in command?
I thought it was pretty lame that Ben's only sending ten guys to kidnap all the women; I mean, the female Survivors alone would outnumber them (and we've all seen how ruthless Kate can be when she gets pissed off). and the whole Survivor group could overwhelm the ten Others if they wanted to - granted, a few of our heroes might get shot in the process, but it would be doable. But blowing them to smithereens is also a good idea imo. Even if only a few of the Others get blown up, the three with the guns could just snipe away till the rest were history. (Omg I soooo don't want Jack or Sayid to die!) I can't believe Kate & Sawyer would just walk away from an opportunity to get back at the Others, either. Richard looked positively alarmed & concerned when Ben told him they were moving their kidnapping plans up; curious to know just what part he really plays in the Island's/Jacob's schemes. If Jacob really has any, that is. I mean, why would he have called out to Locke for help? Unless Ben has some kind of hold over him.
I'm also still curious to know how Walt & Michael are faring.

From the looks of the preview, the rest of the Others are going to come up behind them in the jungle.
The_Raven on 17/5/2007 at 16:52
As Turtle mentioned, they planned on approaching from the jungle and taking them by surprise. Also, this is a carefully picked strike team, though it has already been established that no of the others are used to fighting. Third, the others are armed a lot better than the survivors, Sawyer doesn't even have bullets for his gun. Finally, the plan was to capture and subdue a small group of people, not walk away with half their numbers.

In one of the previews they showed for next week, there's a scene where a satellite dish is exploding. I went back and paused on it, and you can clearly see Locke standing there in the foreground, perfectly healthy. Actually, I'm kind of surprised they showed either one of those things.
Dia on 17/5/2007 at 23:02
I saw the preview of the explosion but didn't notice Locke. It's pretty much a given that the Island will make him all better. I guess it's too much to hope that he'll take Ben down when he's recovered; I mean, Locke's gotta be seriously pissed off at the man by now. But even if Ben dies, there's still Jacob to contend with.
Raven; Ben said last night that if Juliette wasn't ready or hadn't marked the tents of the pregnant women yet that they were to just take all the women (& kill the men). That would have to constitute nearly half of the Survivors, right? Of course, even if a few of the Others survive the explosions they're going to have to go looking for the Survivors and hopefully one of our three heroes will be able to get to the rest in time to warn them. So maybe the survivors will end up having a brawl with the Others after all. I just want to see the bad guys get their asses kicked, is all. (Mainly Ben, who is my favorite person to hate in the whole world right now.)
Woohoo! Just got a DirectTV hook up a few days ago and I CAN RECORD ANYDAMNTHING I WANT!!!! So, I think I'll go back & watch last night's episode to see what I missed (I've got a house full of company and kept getting interrupted - usually it's just me, the cats, & The Odiferous Dog). I'm liking this already. :cheeky:
TODAY MY TV ..... AND SOON MY PC!!!!
I love this satellite thingy.

My mistake. What I meant to write was that the
original plan was to take off with a small group. As we saw, Ben got antsy, moved up the timetable and completely changed the plan. Chances are this, and Locke, will be his undoing.

There was a 45 min. special on last night about Lost wherein the authors recapped the series to date and talked about future episodes. Unfortunately I didn't know about it til after it was over so never got a chance to see it OR record it. Just wondering if anyone else caught it?
I'm curious as to whether there really will be two main characters who die this season. And will one of them be Charlie? Imho, the only two I wouldn't mind seeing go would be Ben and the new chick that parachuted onto the Island (can't remember her name).
P.S. I thought it was so sad when Claire picked up Aaron and the camera closed in on Charlie's ring. :( Also, Charlie's list of the best five moments in his life made me go all misty eyed. *sniffles*
