What if the plane with all the passengers got copied, sort of like that Voyager episode when the ship is duplicated
If Janeway were on that Island none of this shit would be happening. She would have already doublecrossed Ben (like she did to the Devore Inspector Kashyk in 'Counterpoint') and he'd be the one locked in that slaver brig never to be seen or heard from again. Or she would have just phasered his ass by now. :p (God knows I would have.)

I'm pretty sure the satellite phone is the latest technology and something that Sayid wasn't trained for in the republican guard as a communications officer.
I immediately thought, 'Hmmm, alien technology?', but then, that's just me. ;)
As far as Danielle is concerned, I'm kinda hoping she's going to blow up Ben, now that she's seen her daughter. I am still dying to know the story behind how Ben ended up with Alex. And yes, I agree that Ben's flashbacks would be most interesting.

I hope wasn't the only person to notice that there wasn't any flashbacks in this episode.
Really? What would you call those "8 days ago," "5 days ago," "3 days ago," "Last Night" scenes, then?

I suppose those are technically flashbacks, but that wasn't what I was referring to.

They said the plane was found at the bottom of a deep sea trench, 4 miles down, at 2 miles down a human body would disintergrate due to the pressure, they would have found the plane but as for corpses they would have ceased to be, and skeletons wouldn't survive either.
Maybe the others got to the island via the 'black rock', the slave ship, if they were there to mine, maybe there were other passengers from other slave ships there.
What was the greek ruin, locke's dad was tied to for part of the episode, or did everyone miss that building.

(
http://tv.ign.com/articles/785/785891p1.html) Lost is set to end after Season 5?
I consider that a good thing. Now we don't have to worry about plot twists being thrown around just to extend the life of the show. Knowing it has an intended ending, all the writers have to do is have an ending worth all the cockteasing beforehand.

Damn! I'm I going to be pissed off if Locke bites the dust.

Locke won't die. He's too central a character to the plot. But I'm taking bets that Ben won't live to see season 4.
Did anyone else pick up on the hint that the Others are either immortal or very long lived? Last episode when Locke was talking to the guy on the hill, the guy that gives Locke Sawyer's portfolio, he said that "Ben teases us with novelties such as fertility". he seemed a bit too nonchalant about it. Wasn't worried about having children to carry on their legacy. I assumed it was because they could just bring people from off island into their cause, but throughout Ben's flashback you noticed that same guy didn't age while Ben and everyone else in the Dharma Initiative did. I'm gonna guess that the Others are the original passengers of the Black Rock, and they managed to maintain their youth by living off the island, while the Dharma people imported their foodstuff from the mainland.
I'm also gonna say that Jacob is the physical manifestation of the power behind the island, and wasn't a passenger on the Black Rock. Also, the fact that the people that live off the land gain immortality at the cost of bearing children kinda gives off a Garden of Eden vibe to me. I'll need Fett or someone else well versed in the bible to verify this, but I don't think Adam and Eve were meant to be fruitful and multiply til after they ate of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil.

Make that (
http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2007-05-06-lost_N.htm) six.
I'm not sure why exactly they would do 3 seasons of 16 episodes when they could do the same thing in 2 seasons (with 24 each). DVD sales afterwards maybe?
The main thing that doesn't make sense to me about tonights episode is that Richard seems to be a native of the island and he recruited Ben as a young boy. So why is Ben in charge now?
I'm also guessing that Ben dies and Locke lives to take his place by the end of season three.
