Juliette couldn't have helped someone conceive Alex- Juliette has only been on the island for a little over three years.
That's a good point.

And, yeah, Rousseau could be delusional about her missing baby, she says her baby's name is 'Alex', so we're assuming that Ben's Alex is also Rousseau's Alex. It's all assumptions at this point.
This is what I was referring to bassmanret.

Agreed. Considering her history thus far, she is probably deluded.

the girl playing Alex bears a pretty striking resemblance to Mira Furlan, which they've obviously cast her due to, so it seems equally obvious that she's Rousseau's daughter.

When Alex was referring to her 'boyfriend', I half expected Frankie Muniz...

Finally! A decent episode this season. Too bad there's no answers and only more questions, but that's to be expected by now. Even then, it doesn't make it acceptable.
Previews show that we're back to stupid old Jack, Kate, Sawyer and the Others next week. :(
Hewer on 15/2/2007 at 17:41
But it does look like we *may* start getting some answers, though- Looks like Jack is in Sawyer's old bear cage, and Cindy makes her return.

Great backstory on Desmond. Just what the series needed: a resident time-traveller.
Does Desi's statement about Charlie's impending death mean that Dominic M. is going to be written off the series, ya think? (I still think Desi's got the hots for Claire.)
Missed the previews for next week. Can't remember Cindy; I know she was one of the flight attendants but that's all.

Does anyone have an analysis of the namedropping in this show? Whats the significance of Desmond DAVID HUME? And Juliettes ex-Husband Edmund Burke? John Locke and Rousseau? Someone well versed in philosophy/political philosophy here?

Yet another mediocre episode. What was the deal with the obvious cruise ship in the middle of the shot near the end? Seems to me that they're just not just trying anymore.

Agreed. I am so very sick and tired of flashbacks and all the questions that remain at the end of each new episode. I want some answers - ones that make sense and don't end up just posing more questions.

Jules said they were 'going home'; the ship is transportation maybe? Yet at the end of this episode they showed some of the cast aboard what looked like a tug though they started out from shore aboard a rowboat. I think.
Remember Carl saying he had a back yard? Don't tell me they actually live somewhere that's populated by normal people. That would be pushing predictable and formulaic over the top.

Once again I agree. It's as though the authors have gotten lazy and are just throwing one flashback after another at us with each episode because they a.) either don't know where the hell they're going with this, or b.) were out too late the night before and their brains have turned to mush. I got up and did other stuff during the flashbacks and didn't feel as though I really missed anything. I'm getting very, very bored with Lost.
I'm also bored with the on again-off again thing between Kate & Sawyer. They should just settle down and have kids.
Speaking of kids, wonder what ever happened to Walt.
