Slightly old news, yet one that caught me totally off guard this evening as I hadn't heard the film was actually in production.

AND he initially worked on the project with Jim Thompson! This could be really sweet. Or potentially an utter disaster.
Are any other Kubrick fans equally as excited, and apprehensive? I look at what Stevie-boy did to
A.I. without Kubrick as the producer and wonder if taking on another Kubrick-project without Kubrick is really a great idea.

This really better be one of his good films, he's had enough shitty ones. Then again he's dead and therefore not directing, so hopes are high.

And here I was hoping for a sequel to Spartacus.

I'm not excited.
The director's personality plays the most important role in the production of a movie and influences the end result the most, especially in the art-house territory. Different director = different movie, even if a scenario is exactly the same. I'm sure the A.I. would be drastically different if it was directed by Kubrick himself. It's like Queen without Mercury.

No need to have high hopes to begin with, cause it WON'T be Kubrick himself, but if it turns out okay, good for us and good for the director. Good luck to him nevertheless.

You'd understand if you hadn't been raised by marmots.

Or you could just stop being a hamsterdick and explain exactly what you mean by "or else what-" are you accusing me of making threats or something if this movie turns out shitty?
I suppose I should answer your question: or else I fuck your mom. Actually I think that's a foregone conclusion either way.
Troll.
