Lord Inut's Bow.. - by Arx-God

Does anyone know how to acquire Lord Inut's Bow? I beat Arx a few days back, and I played a Wizard-Type character... It's a pain in the ass being a Wizard, especially when you're fighting the Ylsides... But I found an easy way outta that one, just use Fireball on them, and they explode into various pieces... I had to laugh when I blew off one's head with a fireball.. Nice Sight.. ANYWAYS, I'm not sure if it's part of that huge treasure hunt quest everyone is babbling about, or if you just pick up this amazing bow under a rock or something, somebody let me know.. Yes asking questions decevies my name (Arx-God) :joke:

This quest is different from the treasure hunt quest. It's actually broken in the latest version; you can't "receive" the quest. Fortunately, it can still be completed.
There's a chicken on the first level of the crypt (level 4 of the game). If you cast Reveal or wear the Helm of Poxsellis near the chicken, you will see it temporarily transform into a man. Here are more details, copied from arx.rpgdot.com :
Quote:
Given by: find Lord Inut in chicken form in the Crypt (Level 4, room 31)
Solution: When you cast Reveal near the chicken or are wearing the Poxsellis’ helmet, you can see his true shape: he is human, he is the werechicken from the great chicken book (you can find this book in Chinkashh castle library).
Then find a leek, a carrot, a dragon egg and a bottle of water and go the tavern, approach the cauldron behind Tizzy (you'll eventually have to kill her to do that...) and use the leek on the cauldron. You'll hear a "gloo gloo" noise. Do the same with the carrot and the egg.
Now use the bottle of water on the cauldon. The bottle is now renamed to a "strange potion".
Now go back to the chicken and use reveal to turn him to its human shape for ten seconds. While in its human shape use the strange potion on him. Here we are!
A "cocorico" message appear. The guy turns definitively to his human shape and thanks you. If you speak to him two times, he explodes like a chicken and leaves behind one of the two unique weapons...
Reward: Either Inut’s Magic Bow or Inut’s Giant Magic Sword & 20000 XPs
Note that there's a 50% chance of getting the bow. Just save before giving him the potion and reload if you don't get the weapon you want. You need at least 18 strength to use the sword and a decent projectile weapons skill to use the bow (possibly 40 or better). I prefer the bow, because with high dexterity and projectile skill the backstabs and critical hits are outrageous. :cheeky:
Edit: By the way, have fun getting that additional dragon egg. :p

Thanks, I'll make sure to go and save before I talk to him next time.. :o
Oh, and I don't think you need to kill the Bartender woman to get by... She just sits there and screams at you! "GET OUT OF HERE, PLEASE!!" Lol. Well thanx again, i'll go get that bow now :p
No problem getting those dragon eggs... Just gotta bring tons of Mana Potions to the Dragon Lair with me and cast about 100 fireballs on it.. Lol

That's right about the bartender. She didn't turn hostile at me either; she just yelled at me several times.
I don't recommend attacking the dragon from a distance unless you've got hordes of arrows and lots of patience because it uses paralyzation continuously if you're outside of its melee/cold attack range. The best strategy I've found is to cast Harm 8 times or so and attack it head on. It's a cheap strategy that works great on most enemies in the game.
Also, you can probably just grab an egg and run.
