If anyone has completed this sidequest, please help. I was going back into the crypt and ran into Lord Inut. I'd read about the were chicken somewhere else, and yes, I had peeked at the walk through. That's 20000 XP, so let's go for it. I collected the ingredients, went to Tizzies' cauldron, used them on it, when I used the bottle of water, my voice says "I must wait on this" or something like it. What am I missing, I used the leek, carrot, dragon egg and still no potion. The guide says something about a book from Chingkash in the castle. No joy. Nothing on the walls and she keeps crowing about wisdom. I'm using the 1.15 patch, have the helmet, Ylside armor, the meteor sword and want to level up before going after Akbaa. Have I gone to far to trigger this?:wot:

got this from the arx.rpgdot.com walk:
Save Lord Inut (after patch 1.14 only!)
Given by: find Lord Inut in chicken form in the Crypt (Level 4, room 31)
Solution: When you cast Reveal near the chicken or are wearing the Poxsellis’ helmet, you can see his true shape: he is human, he is the werechicken from the great chicken book (you can find this book in Chinkashh castle library).
Then find a leek, a carrot, a dragon egg and a bottle of water and go the tavern, approach the cauldron behind Tizzy (you may have to kill her to do that...) and use the leek on the cauldron. You'll hear a "gloo gloo" noise. Do the same with the carrot and the egg.
Now use the bottle of water on the cauldon. The bottle is now renamed to a "strange potion".
Now go back to the chicken and use reveal to turn him to its human shape for ten seconds. While in its human shape use the strange potion on him. Here we are!
A "cocorico" message appear. The guy turns definitively to his human shape and thanks you. If you speak to him two times, he explodes like a chicken and leaves behind one of the two unique weapons...
Reward: Either Inut’s Magic Bow or Inut’s Giant Magic Sword & 20000 XPs

There is no great chicken book in the castle library and I can't find one in the Sister's library. I used that walk through. I may have started this game before the patch came out - patched it to 1.14 and then later to 1.15. Maybe that's the problem. Any other suggestions?

The book can be found on level 4, in the same room as the chest that starts the Treasure Hunt quest.

I never found the Oliver quest chest. I did find a room on level 4 that had Lord Inut's memoirs, but their was no were chicken remedy, just the story and a language lesson. If this is the book, then I have it. I'm either doing something wrong, am missing something or the quest isn't triggering correctly. I started over with a new character, mabe it will work now.
I might be able to finish with this character, but I can't do 10th level spells. I have 98000 XP and need another 12000 to level up. I've killed everyone everywhere except Arx city and castle and I don't think I will get enough there (and what am I saving Arx for if I kill everyone):ebil:

Oh, I must've thought of the wrong book.
Anyway, if you need exp you could try to blue-demon-of-death method. Just cast MEGA-MEGA-MEGA-AAM-VITAE-TERA and kill it. If you can :ebil:.
IIRC, it gives about 1000 exp every time you kill it.

My new character was able to make the potion. Off to explode a chicken man:D

the quest is started by putting an emerald in the chest - there is writing on the wall of the tavern next to the bloke at the top of the stairs who you may have talked to near the beginning of the game
