Hello commchat! :D
Can you assist me in finding this movie?
IIRC, it's one of those British boarding school movies. There's not much I can recall about it, but what I do recall is this...
A chubby lad commits suicide by either throwing himself through the window of the school, or hanging himself out of the window, (probably due to bullying), and the end credits have the titles rolling over a picture of the school, IIRC, surrounded by trees, and the music was a choir song, IIRC.
I know it's not much to go on, but I saw this a couple of times in my teens and it's one of those movies you loved, but can never remember the title of! Might have been a late seventies or early eighties movie.
Thanks in advance! :D

No, that's in a Borstal, not a school. ;)

Hmm, you know, that just might be it, but I gotta check more info about it, but it does have a suicide in it, and there's a Hym mentioned, which is ringing some bells!
It looks promising, thankyou very much. :D
PS. Already got If...

I watched the Alfred Hitchcock movie Rope the other day and that description reminded me of a scene.
Jimmy Stewart was standing between two woman who were talking about movies/plays they had seen. The conversation went something like.
"Do you remember the one about something and starred what's-his-name? The title was something something. Or was it just something?"
"Oh I saw one that stared the man that was in that other movie something something of the something"
"Ah yes I saw that but wasn't it called something something something"
etc... Jimmy Stewart just looked from one woman to the other with a completely dumbfounded look on his face.

Rope is easily my favourite Hitchcock; I love Psycho but something about the technical nature of the way they filmed Rope and the seedy, pseudo-sexual undertones really works for me as being a thematically more complex movie. God, now I need to watch it again.
Plus, Jimmy Stewart fucking owns.
