Thanks, my friends! These will be plenty of examples to see if one fits my needs. Much appreciated.

Another one for you:
downwinder posted in another thread about how some fan missions are significantly different playthroughs depending on the difficulty played on..
Does anyone know some examples of those types of FMs? Mainly looking for ones with either a different theme or playstyle, but also ones that lock off certain areas are ok as well, but I've decided that's NOT the route I'd like to take. Hehe, no pun intended. :)
The larger the differences the better, actually. Thanks!

As I just answered in that thread, "A Weekend Getaway" is exactly what he mentioned: Different missions, and you have to play all three difficulty levels to play through the whole story. Then there's "The Ghost House/The Haunted Hospital" which offers some way of choosing which of these missions you want to play. I don't know whether it's selected by difficuty, though.
Then there were at least two missions that had a fantasy setting and offered you to play as three different characters. One was called "Hero Quest", I think, and was most likely inspired by a board game of the same name. I'm not sure whether all of the three choices did work, though.
The other one is "A Journey into the Underdark", where you can play as a warrior, archer, or mage. I think it was inspired by a somewhat well-known role-playing computer game, but I don't remember which one, and I'm too lazy to check out the mission's info file to get that information. Anyway, the difference mostly stems from the different starting inventory the player gets.
Yandros' "Dance with the Dead" (not to be confused with Gregorius' "Dancing with the Dead") offers a lot of variety based on the choice of difficulty as well as one of three choices of starting equipment.

Awesome, thanks for that info. I'm on a quest now!! :)
As usual, you are amazing at this. Thanks for being a font of knowledge on this subject.
EDIT: I also seem to have a vague recollection of one FM that you start off in a very small room, and I think there were plaques (maybe 2 of them?) on the wall, and a couple of switches (buttons, or levers?) and it asked you something about a choice... and depending on which one you chose, something different would happen... But that's all I remember of it, and I have no idea if it changed much.

Awesome. Sounds excellent, thank you!

I think the choices avalable in "The Ghost House/The Haunted Hospital" as well as in "Dance with the Dead" were made with a small starting room that resembles what you described. However, it's been a long time since I played any of these two missions, and my memories may not be the best anymore.
"The Violent End of Duncan Malveine" does have a somewhat small room where you make a choice that, AFAIK, influences who did it and so on, but I don't think gameplay changes much. You still have to seach the mansion for clues and find the killer.

I can recommend to you "ten little taffers" and eternauta´s "kingsbridge". Depending on the difficulty level you play on, things are different :)

Thank you, Samantha1. I know they'll be good if you recommend them.

Mission where you start in a little run down cathedral and then you descend down in to an undead over run abandoned hammer compound.
