I've never been able to get past the part with the monkey out of sheer fear. I want to hear the statements the Many make to you, specifically the one about Rain that wikipedia says is the first one.
Is there a utility to extract the file or does anyone have it?
Much appreciated for any help.

The only utility you'll need is WinZip. All the sound files are within SND.CRF and SND2.CRF, which can be opened/browsed with WinZip.

If you're using Windows XP, you can just rename the .crf files to .zip and browse them like normal folders. That Windows XP zipfile handler is incredibly slow though.
I wouldn't recommend WinZIP though, it has the worst interface of any archiver I've seen. Use WinRAR instead.

Wouldn't that make the game not see those files as they are now named differently and, as a result, not work anymore? You can simply associate the file type (.crf) with WinZip. Or better yet, I recommend winrar.

Renaming the file extensions will work just as well with the game.
Still I'd recommend to associate the CRF extension with an unpacker of your choice.
ZIP files of the same name as a CRF would override the CRF which may come in handy at some point.
