I thought these things existed but I'll be damned if I can find one. I've been looking for work in my field and there's nothing to be had. The recruiters have these massive applicant databases that you have no hope in hell of standing out in and applying directly to the companies has gotten me nowhere.
I'm interested in work in the GTA and live in Toronto so if anyone knows of a company or agency that caters to individuals seeking employment rather than recruiting from a pool of applicants for large companies, I'd be eternally grateful. It's gotten to the point where I just want to throw money at someone and say get me a damn job.

Lol....I guess I walked into that. Stealing cars COULD be a profession I suppose but for now I'm looking for something in the Greater Toronto Area that's legit :sly:

I know the feelng dude. I only got a few job offers after applying to almost 250 jobs, and that's in IT! (granted I would apply to 10 or 15 on each company's website).
Anyway, I'm sure you've heard of Monster.com. I know a few kids who recommend it highly even though I've never used it. Also, really focus on government contractors if you're in engineering (Boeing, Northrop, Lockheed, Raytheon, Rockwell, Harris, Honeywell, etc). They always seem to have hundreds and and hundreds of job openings on their website, a lot of entry level stuff too if that's what you're looking for.
Best of luck!
edit - Ah, didn't realize you wanted to stay in Toronto/were Canadian, oh well
