I have a Pentium 4 with Hyper-Threading and it causes freezing in SS2 under XP. The link for the SS2MTFIX.EXE patch file mentioned in the FAQ is broken. Could anyone send me this file?

I don't have the file, but you can always use the solution mentioned in the real FAQ (the red ones). It works perfectly.

I use ImageCfg system command, works wonders for any executable that I want to run on one core only. :)

this site has instructions on how to use ImageCfg for thief and system shock 2, personally I found it very helpful. :) Good Luck!

Hello all,
I just installed SS2 and went through the FAQ and with a little tweaking I got SS2 to work perfectly. As the origonal poster said the link in the FAQ for the SS2MTFIX.EXE is broken. Could someone who has this file upload it to filefront or something so I can download it. I would really like to have this file so I dont have to keep disabling the CPU1 every time I want to play the game.
Thanks,
Wolfy

Try the link in Dirtwasp87's post just above. It includes simple instructions for permanently forcing Shock 2 to run on a single core.

The instructions on this page don't specially explain how to modify the affinity for shock2.exe, but it explains the way you do it for any executable.
