Greetings everyone....It's that time of year and I'm looking to take advantage of sales that will inevitably occur around this time (and particularly after the holidays) to upgrade an ageing HDTV....and the key point here is that I want to increase my viewing distance both from the TV and (via HDMI) as a substitute for my PC's screen. I've got a list of criteria:
Mandatory:
-1080p with a high clarity
-Low input latency(due to potential gaming use and PC use)
-minimal motion blur(contributes to my eyestrain more than any other factor)
- size: 40-50
There's also a couple features that I prefer:
-NOT smart TV enabled (don't ask)
- 3D would be nice. Not mandatory, but if I can get it without a massive price increase I'll take it.
- I strongly prefer a set with RCA output. Otherwise I need to replace my speakers as well.
Any suggestions?

Panasonic plasmas have great picture quality, and they have pretty low lag in game mode. Recent models have had about 40 ms, a few of the lower-end models have even less (due to less image processing, I assume). (
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panasonic-tx-p42ut50b-p50ut50b-201209252218.htm?page=Calibration) These reviews are a good place to check the input lag stats, although they don't cover every single model. The TV I got felt just fine when I played Beatmania on it (which is a really precise music game, although I'm not the biggest Beatmania player). Plus, plasma doesn't smear as much as LCD when showing fast motion or FPSes.
Panasonic is stopping production of plasmas after this year, too, so you might find some deals.

And the black level of that particular model is almost that of a CRT, stunning!

Gonna ask, why no Smart TV?
Also, Panasonic Plasma? You're gonna be selling plasma to afford it.

Shrug, I waited around forever and found one from an ebay seller. Depends on your budget and your country.

Okay, so I'm gonna be selling plasma to afford it.

I'll buy your jizz.
I doubt if the issue even matters anymore, and it doesn't sound like it's really a problem at all, but here is an article about burn-in on plasma TVs and how to avoid it: (

Something to consider.

Depends on your budget. I recently purchased the Samsung UN60F8000. Thief 2 looks INCREDIBLY good on this tv and plays very well too with no lag or anything. I love this tv. It's pricey but well worth it.

Anything would look good on a 60" £2500 tv.
