Looking for a monitor that supports 1600x1200 or above. - by lost_soul

Any suggestions? I don't want a wide screen display, and I would prefer one WITHOUT HDCP.
The other day the power went out here and I think they damaged my monitor. Now when I turn it on, there are horizontal lines at the bottom for five minutes or so. This goes away though and the display is just fine. It is an old CRT that does everything I want.
Most of the standard aspect monitors I've seen cost over $400 for 1600x1200 resolution (WHAT!!??). I wish I could go back in time to 2001 and pick one of these up for $160.

I just bought ViewSonic 23.6" Wide LCD, VX2433WM, FULL HD for about 200€ in Finland and I like it so far. (been using for a little bit less than a week though)

you can buy 19" LCD with 4:3 resolution that will do 1600*1200 for the £100-200 mark. Give me a change to have a look for you.

Yeah, there's plenty of options for good monitors out there.
