I'm looking for a good enchanted long sword. Suggestions on where I can find one? Doesn't matter how its obtained, just looking for a sword.

Goldbrand is really easy to get. You have to go swimming in the sea around the Daedric ruin just NW of Hla Oad, until you find the broken statue of Boethiah and speak to its head to start the quest. There is a waiting period of some six weeks involved.

Spoilers ahead!
If you're on tribunal, get Trueflame or Hopesfire. Both are obtained through the Tribunal Mainquest.
If not, then the Daedric Dai'Katana is good if you enchant it yourself.
My all time favorite is Chrysamere. It's in the cave Abanabi, southwest of Sadrith Mora. It doesn't have any constant effect spells though, but it does do Resist Fire 5-20% for 30 seconds, Reflect 5-20% for 30 seconds and restore health 5-20pts on self. It does 5-70 damage.
The Daedric Crescent is a pretty cool sword. It looks cool... and casts a devastating spell combo on strike. It's carried by a Dremora Lord in an enclosed shrine. The only way to get the Daedric Crescent is to get the Daedric Sanctuary Amulet. It's in a small box next to Divayth Fyr in Tel Fyr. It does 20-50 damage, Paralyze for 10 seconds and Disintergrate Armor 5-30 pts.

i haven't met with Trueflame or Hopesfire, but yes, Chrysamere is very good (although 60 kilos) and not that hard to get... Crescent is perfect (that it sometimes makes me think about starting to use long swords) but a bit harder to reach...
also, there are 4 long glass swords with a different elemental damage enchantments on each... i don't know how good they are 'cause i don't use long swords i said... i only stole them and since then, they are just being displayed on the bed in my room, waiting for the day of being transported to the mudcrab for their huge prices:cheeky: ...
But IIRC, they have a cool amount of damage + a high elemental damage...
anyway they are just in:
the ghostgate, in one of the vaults at the basement(there are two buildings with a vault in each)... but be warned, they are well guarded and locked so u ll need to lockpick some ~90-100pts and hide from some guards while opening the locks and picking the swords...
also if u want something to guard u until u get one of the swords mentioned in the thread, you can:
visit the "8 blades" in Balmora, and lockpick the door against the main door. there are plenty of good weapons. at least, enough if u haven't started being attacked by atronachs and dremoras yet... but u'll need to lockpick a ~90pts lock while hiding from a guard as well...
i hope it helps

The Crescent is far from perfect, as you'll discover when you start attacking Golden Saints with it ;)
RyushiBlade on 27/5/2003 at 21:34
Hm... yeah, I think I killed the Golden Saint in one hit. ... Was it supposed to do that?
Oops.
:cheeky:

Think mirrors.

the only time i've experienced Crescent's quality was while i was being killed with it at my first try to enter the place that we all got it from...(oooh!!! it's hard to exclude spoilers) because my longsword skill is too low and also crescent is two handed...since i started carrying scourge for it's summoning power, i left all my other weapons and trained my blunt weapon skill... but now i dont need scourge to summon strong creatures so maybe i should leave it at home and train myself for long swords:cheeky:

If you're interested in looks try Umbra. It's the coolest looking one in my opinion, although the enchantment is only soultrap.
Kafein on 6/6/2003 at 15:38
... it really looks nice... but it is not too powerful... only has a useless enchantment... soultrap on a sword means, if there is only grandsoulgems in my inventory, and a rat attacks, and i kill it with that sword, a grand soul gem is gone... i can cast soultrap myself...thank u:)
but the way we get it was really cool...although my character is mostly mage, i didn't let him use magic 'cause it would be wrong in that fight... :) (only he had constant levitation and the boots of blinding speed:cheeky:but he would have no chance without them) i felt like a little bird fighting with a rhyno:)
but as soon as the fight was over (after trying a few times), the game closed down by itself, and i had to fight again... but it just took 2 seconds, because i let him use magic:cheeky:
daedric claymore is very cool too.. but i don't have any idea where to find it... it is a random weapon that dremora lords use... just kill any dremoras u see and u have 1 % chance to have it...:erg:
