I hope the fiberglass does not crack and peel on you. If you used a poly-resin you may not get a good bind between the wood and the mesh.
You could try the old method on your next bow. Sinew and fish glue. :) Although where you would get enough of the one and a good formula for the other I don't know.
Many ancient bows were backed with horn, sinew and secured with a fish glue.
The recurved Mongolian short bows and the Chinese bows were made this way. But in reality the English Longbow was not backed and could be shot nearly 400 yards with killing power.

I was refering to an old story about how some guy went out with a cloak and bow and tried to raid a Wal Mart. He was caught by police shooting out the lamp posts in front of the store.
