There have been various threads about this - (
www.last.fm) has expanded quite a bit since I was on there a couple of years ago, but its best features are still going strong - putting together a list of your most played tracks, sharing and comparing those with friends and recommending bands and tracks that you may like based on your preferences.
I had a scrobbler plugin for Winamp back in 2006 but over a few PC changes I gradually forgot about it. I randomly came across the site again and the open TTLG group ((
http://www.last.fm/group/TTLG)) is still in existence but seems to have lost some steam. You can get the scrobbler client from the lastfm home page for WMP, iTunes and Winamp; as a foobar user I found this (
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/fb2k.html) little gem which doesn't require an installer. Just whack it in the components folder in foobar, open the program, file -> preferences, Find Tools -> Audioscrobbler and put your lastfm details in (and tick the enable checkbox).
Also a note on the regular scrobbler client: I initially downloaded it to have a look and found that the installer can jam up while testing your connection for the first time, and claim you aren't online. Just close the installer, right click the task tray icon and tell it to enable the connection before putting in your details again.
Anybody else keen to get back on the bandwagon?

Join'd (Even though I'm only a horrendous lurker on ttlg these days)
Last.fm though, what a great site. I've found many a good recommendation from that! I should add to what Shug said... You can also download a plugin for it to take your track information from Spotify (or maybe it's just a setting on the Spotify client, can't remember!).
Either way, it'll be interesting to see how the TTLG group chart turns out if more folks join it. I'm should start listening to Pink Floyd on loop to bring them to number one :laff:

I regularly check my own last.fm page just to make sure that my taste in music still rocks. Thankfully, it always does.

Yeah, you can just enable scrobbling in the settings.

I'm one of the few that was originally in the TTLG group when it started and has had an active account ever since - although as these days this only tends to be a reflection of what I've sporadically listened to on my iPhone it doesn't really reflect my taste in music (last track - Nina's 99 Red Balloons o rly).
And who is (
http://www.last.fm/user/hulub) hulub, TTLG Group Leader?
:U suggests TF?

I've been in the TTLG group since we started altho I think I changed accoutns at some point. However my tastes seem so far out of sync with everyone else I kind of stopped paying attention. :(

I'm still an active user of LastFM, and a member of TTLG, although I haven't checked the group for a while.
