I was supportive for my wife too, but apparently kept asking "are you okay" often enough for her to shout "THERES A BABY EXITING MY VAGINA" (not verbatim) and I just calmly stroked her head after that.
And now the real fun begins :)

congrats! My wife and I are pet people and will never have kids. We have trouble even understanding how people do it. It is a TOUGH job, and my hat is off to those of you able to make it work.
